I would call myself a serious non-professional runner. I put significant mileage on my running shoes so comfort and fit are paramount. Salomon Soc2 is superb with both. It hardly feels like it’s there yet my feet feel supported and cushioned on every heel strike. If you are a higher weight runner like myself you will love this shoe. It absorbs all the shock on your joints. I have had the shoes for one month and put a little over 100 miles on them and there is no apparent wear of any kind. Soc2 really do fit your feet like a sock. The only concern I have with them is for cold weather running which I haven’t experienced yet with them but considering I live in Chicagoland I will be. I am ready to declare this shoe my winner after only month and I have run in all the major brands. Nothing I have ever run in can touch it.
Wish they would keep these shoes in production permanently. Most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Like pajamas for your feet.
Great shoe. The soc fit upper is comfortable and does fit like a soc. Theres no skeletal structure in the toe box, only begins where the rubberized material is at the laces. Makes it very comfortable to wear. I'd imagine someone with bunions might want to try it out.Cushiony outsole, almost exactly like the Asics Gel Nimbus (maybe slightly less but if so, only by a hair), but not as cushiony as New Balance 880. If you like either one, you'll probably like these as well.Fit and finish aren't as good, though as you can see some excess glue at the outsole. But I don't really care since I'm just working out in them.. Also when I used the pull tab at the heel to put on my shoe, it slightly tore at the seam. But it seems like all the shoe brands are less quality and durability these days.Runs nice. I like neutral shoes with standard toe heel drop and these seem to fit the bill. I run midstrike and they are comfy. I'd imagine it'd be good for heel strikers as well. Will try to update after longer use.Update: I've run just under 100 miles in these. Feel great. I switched from the asics gel nimbus bc quality/durability has been lacking. Took about 3 runs to get use to the feel of the soc2 since there's no structure around the toe box area. I'm sticking with these from now on.
I wanted to try a different brand . I’ve been using New Balance for over 10 years and they haven’t always felt like what I was paying for. These Salomon shoes were on sale at an awesome price and so far they have been excellent. I’m not a small guy at 6’3 225 lbs so I need cushioning when I jog - these have it!Definitely going to be buying more Salomon products in the future
Love the shoes! But fits to true size.
The Salomon shoe is high quality, comfortable, and gives the support needed during super long runs. I have already been running in Salomon's trail shoes that meet my demands. These road running shoes are no different and continue to meet my expectations.
Flat profile really is better for weak knees, balance is better, knee pain is less - I am awaiting knee surgery and these are helping me get through the wait.
