The Saucony Ride 17 is a neutral running shoe designed for everyday runs and workouts. It's known for its comfortable cushioning, smooth transitions, and breathable upper. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, the Ride 17 is a versatile option that can handle a variety of paces and distances. Here's what I liked about the Saucony Ride 17:Plush PWRRUN+ cushioning: This foam feels soft and comfortable underfoot, without sacrificing responsiveness. It absorbs impact well, making it a great choice for long runs or hard workouts.Smooth transitions: The Ride 17's 8mm drop and rockered geometry make for a smooth and efficient stride. You'll feel like you're rolling effortlessly from heel to toe.Breathable upper: The engineered mesh upper is lightweight and airy, keeping your feet cool and dry on even the hottest days.Durable outsole: The outsole is made of a grippy rubber that provides good traction on a variety of surfaces.Wide range of colors: The Ride 17 comes in a variety of colors to suit your style. Here are a few things to keep in mind:The fit can be a bit narrow for some people. If you have wider feet, you may want to consider trying the wide version of the shoe. The laces can come loose sometimes. This is a minor issue, but it's worth mentioning. Some runners may find the cushioning a bit too soft for faster paces. If you're looking for a shoe for tempo runs or races, you might want to consider a different model.Overall, the Saucony Ride 17 is a great everyday running shoe that offers a comfortable, smooth, and responsive ride. It's a good option for runners of all levels who are looking for a versatile shoe that can handle a variety of workouts.I would recommend this shoe to:Runners who are looking for a comfortable and cushioned daily trainerRunners who are transitioning from beginner to intermediate levelsRunners who want a versatile shoe that can handle a variety of paces and distancesI would not recommend this shoe to:Runners with wide feetRunners who are looking for a shoe for fast paces or racesI hope this review helps you decide if the Saucony Ride 17 is the right shoe for you!
I run about 8-10 miles a week, usually 3-4 miles per run. For the last 10 years, I've worn primarily Brooks Ghost and more recently the Brooks Glycerin for additional cushioning. These Saucony shoes are definitely softer than the Ghost and more bouncy, but provide a little less cushioning than the Glycerin. They are very comfortable right out of the box and don't need any break in. They feel very light, which is great, but they are so light that they lack a little bit of stability that I need. I wouldn't trust them on anything other than smooth road terrain. I'm not ready to make the switch from my usual Brooks, but these are not a bad alternative.
Have put about 50 miles on these shoes now and they have been great! I walk ~3 miles every morning which is what I am using these shoes for and the support and fit have been perfect for my foot. The toe box area is a bit wider on these which give my foot plenty of room for any size changes that might occur during the exercise without pinching my toes or making them rub against each other. I ordered a .5 size up from my normal size and found the fit to be slightly roomy, which is what I wanted for walking. I wouldn't want to play quick movement sports like tennis in these because of the room my foot has, but ordering your typical size or even .5 size down should tighten them up. The shoes do seem to breath well with the mesh. I really like the sturdier mesh design these have as the shoes still have some structure to them to hold my foot while being very flexible and comfortable.
I’m an occasional runner who uses big box sporting goods shoes. Immediately after putting these shoes on I could feel the difference in fit and support. They fit true to size for my foot. Heel, toes and width are spot on and locked. The arch support feels fantastic not to mention the overall comfort, these shoes just feel great.Took them for a short run and all I can say is wow, my feet don’t feel hurt or sore afterwards. The impact on the soles are very soft and absorbed the pavement quite well. Just a good stable shoe with plenty of sole to keep in contact on your path. Compared to my other shoe these feel lighter and seem to require less effort while I’m pacing myself.Only heard about Saucony shoes but never tried a pair on, thought they were made for serious runners but these seem reasonably price. Wish I looked into these earlier. Winner if your looking for a good daily runner or just a walking shoe.
First off these are super super lightweight, which I love! Comfort wise they are decent, a bit squishy more so than I would like to be honest. I find that when I walk I feel more foot shifting becasue the sole is so squishy. But that also provides great shock absorbtion and pain releif so its a trade off.
A little about my background. I've done a lot of running. I've run a couple marathons. My favorite races are mountain trail races.I've purchased many different brands of shoes, including many Sacoumy shoes. These are by far the most comfortable Sacoumy shoes I've ever ran in.They have great cushioning. This important when you've put in as many miles as I have. The first time I ran in them they felt like I'd already run in them for a couple of weeks. I purchased standard width, but these shoes are a little wider than most standard width shoes. It makes them more comfortable for longer runs. The shoelaces are made of a stretchy material. It allows you to tighten the shoes securely, but they don't cut off your circulation. They are my favorite shoelaces I've had on any of my running shoes.
Size is spot on. Comfort wise I wouldn’t say it’s worth the price. They’re very light weight and don’t have much cushion.
