These slippers are exactly what I hoped. The size runs a bit small. I wear an 8 1/2 shoe. I ordered the 8-9. It fits very nicely but I think I would order up if someone wears a size 9 shoe. The sole feels good and does not slip on our floor. The sox portion fits well. The sock is warm and stays in place. I ordered the red. It is brick red and perfect. I am pleased with this purchase.
Like everything about these! Be aware your foot is loose inside slipper.
12/2018 - UPDATE #3 (revisiting this product after a recent purchase)Gave these another chance after an ancient pair finally became unwearable. Happy to report that the quality and fit have improved since my last purchase attempt and return in early 2017.Measuring a Men's US 10.5, I purchased a LARGE, which fit perfectly, like an ever so slightly roomy sock (about 1/2 size larger than my foot). Sizing is confusing at best here on Amazon. Would recommend the manufacturer really clear up the way it's listed. Currently there are conflicting size guidelines. The Amazon provided 'Size Chart' link lists a Men's LARGE as US 10.5-11.5, the drop-down purchase size option lists a Men's LARGE as US 9-10, the Acorn Web Site 'Size Chart' shows a Men's LARGE as US 9-10, the packaging I received (with a brown chart on the side) shows a Men's LARGE as US 9-10, while some alternate packaging (orange chart), shown in photos of some reviews, lists a Men's LARGE as US 10.5-11.5. Confused? Me too. I went with a LARGE and it fits my Men's US 10.5 foot. But if you are a US11, I'd size up to an XL.Previous issues with the ankle being too tight were resolved with my pair. Currently they fit as I remember they have all my life. Will report back if there are durability issues, but for now I'm optimistic Acorn has gotten their act together once again.Have deducted 1 star due to the sizing being so confusing and counterintuitive.2/2017 - UPDATE #2 (to my previous reviews below, from 5 stars originally to 3 and now 1):OK, I bit the bullet and ordered a new pair of these in XL. The length is fine, the construction looks OK, but as others have reported, the ankle is now SO tight, they are difficult to get on. The force required is such that it will only be a matter of time before they start to tear. Not to mention they are uncomfortable. I've NEVER had this problem with these slipper socks. As I've said in previous reviews, I've been a customer for decades.Something has happened to ACORN. Their manufacturing has radically declined. It's sad to see a trusted, once American Made product, go down the tubes. I hope that ACORN gets it together and evaluates their quality control. As for now, the brand is unwearable for me.2/2017 - UPDATE #1 (to my previous review below):Though I still like this product, I find they are not as durable as they once were. I see others reporting the same issue both here and on the ACORN website. This appears to have coincided with moving manufacturing out of the US. I hope that ACORN takes notice and improves this product and returns to their previous high standards.----------------------------------------------------------------------1/2014 - I grew up with these and every decade or so I need a new pair. Yes, I said "decade." So pleased that they still make them. The quality remains excellent. My foot measure a US men's 10.5, I wear 11-12's depending on the shoes (usually 11.5) and these fit perfectly.Need I say more?
They are comfortable and warming for feet to putter around in indoors. They are a bit awkward to wear with long pants as they are not designed for outdoor use and getting them off then is a process. I got a large pair of slip ons (17D wides that the socks soles fit into for going to mailbox and other simple acts outdoorsSo other than getting soles centered on your feet when putting on and getting off situations these are great.
I did not like the narrow foot bed or the fact that the sock portion came up to just below my knee, not mid calf as advertised. The socks were not easy to put on or take off. I bought these to replace my LL Bean Rag wool slipper socks (which unfortunately, are no longer available) that I have had for 20 years and what I got from Akorn was a poorly designed substitute. I would not buy these slipper socks again or recommend them.
Needed to replace some older ones from a different company and found these and they looked good. What I like - the footbed is nice and fits well. Color is nice. Seem reasonably well made. What doesn't work for me - the sock portion is too high and much too tight (and this is XL and my calves are toned but not unusually large) and these go up all the way to the largest part of the calf.Probably nice if you like tight things keeping your calves warm or have slender ankles/calves
I wear these everyday. They keep my feet warm and feeling comfy. I can drive with them on, hop out of the car, pay for gas, smokes and a slushy. Pump my gas, get back in car and continue on my way. They're footwear that I never need to take off. Except to throw in the wash. In which I have a second pair to wear. I wear em all day and to bed. Only off to shower and when I have a be outside during the rain and snow. But live in an ar a that doesn't get a lot of snow so..... I'm wearing them now. Love em!!!!
I love them. Very warm. I wear a size 9 and ordered the medium. It fits just right. A little tight in the leg but I am sure they will stretch as I wear them better and be a little tight now then fall down.
