This shoe was purchased for my 95 year old Mother who needed something that was of good quality and closed in. They were a bit tight for her; therefore, I ordered the next half size larger. I was happy to see that it came in the next half size because the whole size would have been too big for her. I know that she will be happy with the larger size and will fit more comfortably.
This brand used to be my luxury go to for my narrow feet. It is embarassing to even compare this item to what Daniel Green used to produce. Sloppy fit and poor materials and construction are evident. This item may be a knock-off, but I won't chance another purchase at this time.
I got these slippers in gold for my daughter's Christmas gift. She is thrilled with them and has barely taken them off since she got them. She wore them for the family Christmas celebration, and my daughter-in-law raved about them, too. Always beautiful and comfortable at the same time.
These slippers are the first Daniel Green slippers I have ever owned. They look really nice and well made. The only problem I have with them really has nothing to do with the actual slippers but with Daniel Green's quality control or packing or whatever they call the department/people who actually packages the shoes in the shoe boxes. I though I had ordered 8 1/2 M but the order states 8 1/2 W, so I will accept that as my error. The problem is that when I received the shoes, the box states 8 1/2 W. I took the shoes out of the box and tried them on and they felt a little big, so I looked inside the shoes and on the inside is very clearly stamped 9 1/2 M. So, I did get the medium width I wanted but they were 2 sizes larger than I ordered. I am not going to the trouble to return these slippers, they will be okay for house slippers even if they are a little big. I can only give them 4 stars because of Daniel Green's boxing mistake.
I have been a size 6-1/2 most of my adult life. Now I find that a 6-1/2 flops around on my foot unless I wear socks. No one wants to wear socks with slippers, so my next purchase will be a size 6 to see if that makes a difference. I am on a quest to find the perfect slipper -- with good arch support, traction, and comfortable. The adjustable ones are so big that I have to staple the velcro tabs in a closed position that is so far beyond the point where the tabs meet. I'm afraid if I don't, then the slippers will be too loose and I'll fall.
I've known about Daniel Green slippers since I was a kid, grown-ups and "old ladies" wore them. I knew they were quality then and they are still quality now. I just got them today and am wearing them right now. I wear a size 11 shoe and have arthritis in my feet which makes tight toe boxes scrunch my feet and cause pain. These are stylish ( I'm an old lady now!), comfortable and as well made as I remember these slippers from long ago. My arthritic joints (where people get bunions) are not squished and I have no pain as I wear these. I've had them on for a few hours and my feet feel great.
I purchased these for a costume and thought they'd be great to hold onto as slippers/comfy shoes since I thought this brand was supposed to be a higher end slipper. They're terrible though. Made cheaply and very uncomfortable.When on, they don't look terrible. I got a lot of complements on them, they look true to the picture. However when you take them out of the box you'll notice the poor fabrics quality, terrible finish and uneven seams.Sizing: They're cut narrow and while the body of the shoe does stretch out a little bit, the ribbon they use as edging doesn't so it cuts into your foot. I wear an 8.5-9 and have a narrow foot. I purchased the 8.5 bc of other reviews and they're too tight. I should have gone with the 9. So if you're in between sizes def go with your bigger size.There is no cushion, no support and the material inside doesn't feel nice or plush or anything that you'd normally like in a slipper. It's a gross cheap material that you'll feel catch if you have dry spots on your feet.Lastly, these are 100% house slippers and not good for people who need stability in their shoe. The outside sole is just leather. There's no rubber or anything. So it's like walking around in socks, you'll slip on slick floors and if you go outside they'll get torn up. So not a great option for grandma.Lastly- I ordered them with prime shipping and they still showed up 3 days late. They were guaranteed for a Tuesday delivery but came on Friday. Too late for me to order another pair for my party when I realized how tight they were.Overall, these are aweful. I can't recommend them for anyone or any use. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the outside does look decent and true to the photo.
Daniel Green Slippers are the best quality shoes I have ever purchased. I bought these for my mom and she has a very narrow foot, they fit perfectly. She is so very happy to have a pair of slippers that will stay on her feet and prevent tripping or falling.
