There was no shoe factory as we know it today, just a small shop where Thomas and Amos cut the leather for their shoes. The actual shoe making was farmed out among the people of the town, while Thomas and Amos supplied them with uppers, soles, counters and heels to be assembled into shoes. All shoes were sewed by hand whenever the shoemaker-farmers could spare the time. Today L.B. Evans is owned and operated as a division of Daniel Green Enterprises. Many of the traditional gentleman's slipper styles are still part of the line, but the business has grown to include new updated classics, premium products including elk and deer, and an array or rugged, warm outdoor styles. Daniel Green Enterprises remains committed to the quality and comfort guarantee that the Evans brothers established over 200 years ago.

Do you also have freakishly long and narrow feet? These fit my size 13 (US) AA narrow feet. They are the only pair of slippers that fit.Quality is superb. They are indoor only. Don’t wear them outside at all. They’re slippers not shoes.They do take some breaking in to get optimal comfort but out of the box they don’t rub or anything.

I have bought these slippers over the years for as long as I can remember. They fit better and are more comfortable than any others I have tried. I buy 12 x-wide, which fits me best even though I am a size 11EEE.My only complaint and one of the reasons I have bought so many pairs: the soles eventually become brittle around the edges and chips eventually flake off. To be honest, though, I'm not walking very steadily and sometimes drag my feet, so part of the problem is me. However, I like these so much, I'm ok with buying yet another pair when the previous one wears out,.

I purchased these men’s slippers for my 84 year old brother’s birthday. It’s been less than 2 months and they are open and raveling along the seams. I read the reviews that mentioned the faulty seams, but I really thought those reviews were outliers. They aren’t. The poor quality is the rule and not the exception. My brother was so pleased to have them based on their appearance, but now his feet are exposed in these ripped, useless slippers. I’m angry and embarrassed about this purchase. My brother didn’t abuse these slippers in any way. If you’re thinking of Christmas gift giving, these are not a good choice. DO NOT BUY!
I find these slippers stylish, in that they resemble a loafer, and I find the inner soft leather quite comfortable beneath my feet. I have been purchasing these L.B. Evans slippers for years from a local shoe store who has now relocated out of the area, but having now purchased them through Amazon I found them for a cheaper price than I was paying!I find these slippers to be quite durable. Typically slippers are meant to be worn indoors around the house, but I often do quite a bit of outdoor walking on hard pavement and damp lawn in them as well, and despite that my last pair still lasted me well over three years! So it stands to reason that anyone using them strictly for normal indoor use should get many years of use from them.The bottoms are constructed of a non-skid type leather and are not as slippery as one would expect leather bottoms would be.
Bought these for my dad and he loved them. He said they’re very comfortable.
