This style runs a size small. The 38 is identical to a Keen 37 in the same type of shoe. They are a flat shoe that is narrow, but the elastic tongue makes them easy to slip on and off.We love Cienta shoes! You won't find a better affordable nontoxic shoe like it. (Natural World, Cienta and Victoria shoes are all made at the same factory in Spain using the same materials).Yes they smell like grape because of the fruit oil added to the rubber, it does reduce over time yet never fully goes away.They machine wash really well, we put them on the boot dryer to ensure they are completely dry quickly so the cotton does not mold.
