My son lives in tennis shoes and is in the "I hate dress up" stage of childhood. I bought these for family pictures and he was pretty tickled with them. He knows they're "fancy" shoes, but doesn't complain when I pick them out for an outfit (pictures, church, etc.). He says they're comfortable and fit well. Easy to get on and off. Durable and not easily scratched. Still look as good as when we bought them and he's worn them for outdoor family photos, Easter egg hunt, and to children's church a couple of times. I'd buy them again when he outgrows the size we have.
