👏🏾 Absolute BEST Boots for WINTER 🧊🌨 Compared against North Face 🎖 Size 11

When I saw these boots being tested against ice (on a CityLine's tv segment), I had to buy them for the safety aspect alone! Both the Bogs boots and North Face boots were the highest scoring winter boots that were available in larger sizes with unmatched traction in the snow and ice.So I ordered both and here is my review and comparison for both boots in a size 11 for a normal women's size 10 shoe wearer.➡ Links to other boot (link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NJ1YH7P/ ) The North Face Women's Shellista IV Tall Boots🥾 SAFETY: SLIP RESISTANT ON ICE / SNOW + WATERPROOF✤ Bog: Yes, it has a thick rubber sole with lots of groves.🥊 North Face: Yes, it has a rubber sole with special technology built in to help you walk on ice without slipping.*** Both boots perform extremely well in ice and snow. It is NO question that either boot would be great in snow and will last many years to come. Both boots are waterproof with really high-quality material to assure this as well.🥾 MATERIAL✤ Bogs: Rubber from top of the boot (1/3 of the entire boot) to the rubber sole. Upper material is wool with a thinner light grey fleece material inside.🥊 North Face: 60% of the boot is rubber/leather with grey wool patches including the entire tongue being wool. Inside the boot is thicker fleece material that’s 20% medium grey and 80% black (inside).🥾COMFORTBILITY & WARMTH✤ Bogs: Comfy but not as warm since this boot doesn’t have thicker fleece lining material inside. The inside material is thin but the outside material is very stretchy (although sturdy and won’t fold down). The boot feels looser on without having a firm grip on your calves.🥊 North Face: It's bulkier/thicker fleece lining inside boot making it very comfortable and cozy. The boot feels like a medium-firm hug on your foot, calves, and legs.🥾 ARCH SUPPORT✤ Bogs: Has some arch support but the outer sole is very bulky that still feels flatter inside the shoe. In other words, the outside sole has a lot of dips and structure but on top of the sole (which is inside the shoe where your foot is) is more leveled/flat. I wouldn’t say it doesn’t have any arch at all it just not as bouncy as other “comfort” shoes (or North face’s boots).🥊 North Face: Very bouncy/supportive with a really impressive amount of arch support for a boot. The outsole is flatter (than the Bogs boots) BUT it’s more comfortable on your feet (especially if you don’t have flat feet).🥾 DIFFICULTY GETTING INTO BOOT / BIG CALVES APPROVED?✤ Bogs: Super easy to put on, you just slide your foot in. The calf area and shaft of the boot is really wide so it wouldn’t be an issue for bigger calves or bulkier clothes (IE: Jeans, wide-leg yoga pants, etc). There are NO zippers, shoelaces, or any fastening components to tighten or loosen up the boot.🥊 North Face: You have to loosen the boot’s shoelaces (which you get two pairs of) to get your foot into it and since there is a lot of padding inside, you may have to wiggle your foot inside. But once you have your foot inside it’s a good fit. The calve area can be a little tighter (but for someone with a big calve this wasn’t a huge issue) but you can adjust the shoestrings to accommodate your desired size/width.🥾 WILL SNOW GET INSIDE BOOT?✤ Bogs: No, unless the snow goes up pass your upper calve where the whole inserts are on both sides. Otherwise, there is nowhere for the snow to enter the boot anywhere on the boot.🥊 North Face: No, the front tongue has an elastic band inside which protects any snow from entering the front of the boot. So the shoelace area has no holes/spaces for the snow to get inside even if you do not tie your boots. These boots are taller and unless the snow is up to your knees, no snow is entering inside these boots.🥾 SIZING✤ Bogs: TRUE TO SIZE. I ordered a size up and if I decide to keep these, I would need to order my correct size which is a size 10. These are unquestionably true to size as I had a true size 11 wearer try these on and they said they fit perfectly.🥊 North Face: I would size up a half size for larger feet.🥾 PERKS / CONS over other boot✤ Bogs PERKS1. Better Design / Style2. Easier to put on3. True to size (for larger feet too)4. Easier to store (with side openings making easy to hang to dry)5. $10 cheaper🥊 North Face PERKS1. A lot warmer inside, with lots of inside padding2. Better Arch Support and more comfortable on the foot3. Comes with extra shoelaces✤ Bogs CONS1. Less padding inside, not as warm2. Less Arch support🥊 North Face CONS1. Need to size up a half sizes.2. May need to adjust shoelaces (each use) to get on/off and to accommodate bigger calves🥾🥾 OVERALL 🥾🥾You can NOT go wrong with either the North Face or the Bogs Boots, they are both high-performance snow boots for the winter. I would have loved for the North face to have everything the Bog Boot had to expect the outsole. And for the Bogs Boots to have the North face outsole, lol. I would confidently recommend both boots to anyone looking to not fall on ice, for comfort, arch support, and a boot built to last for YEARS. I really hope this helps as I know this took forever to read LOL :)

Just what I need - warm, dry, and comfy

I purchased these to replace another pair of dog-walking Bogs that I've owned for nearly 17 years. The old pair had finally hit their end, with soles too worn down to keep me safe on slick sidewalks. This version has a tall shaft that will keep my legs warm, and deep treads that should bite into snow and grip the walk. I hope the soles will stand up to daily walks on concrete - we'll see. The foot is well cushioned and the feel while walking is delightfully bouncy. These look like they will be impervious to water, and look like they really will protect my feet in low temps (not sure I'll ever test 50 degrees below zero, though...)Bogs are generously sized and my old pair was a sz 10 Womens. The old boots were too snug for my long, wide feet, particularly when I wore thick Winter socks, so I sized up on this purchase. Unfortunately, there is no 10.5 sizing, so I ordered sz 11. They are very roomy - my wide feet are not squished, my toes can stretch and move naturally, and the boots accommodate the heavy socks I wear while tromping around with the dog - but they are loose in the heel. (I think this is normal for boots, so I'll live with it.) These boots are nice enough that I can wear them on the commute to work, but if I wear them with thin socks, they will be very loose.Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Best boots EVER

4 years ago I bought an expensive pair of Sorel boots that look great! They look like something you could wear while exploring the Arctic, but they are awkward and don't keep my feet warm. I love winter and I found these boots were holding me back from spending time outside. Did I mention it was a full workout to get them on my feet? This year the snow has been gorgeous and it was time to be outside as much as possible, which led to a quest for a new boot. I spent days combing reviews and ended up with this boot. They arrived and (cue angels singing) they are PERFECT! Easy to slip on. Nice arch. Keep my feet warm in single degree temps in a blizzard. It is like wearing slippers. The footbed it like walking on memory foam. Love them! And, they are cute.

Good boot but..

These boots are nice. They keep my feet warm and dry and are comfortable. They're convenient bc I can just slip them on but... I have to wear full socks like a wool sock, no ankle socks at all. If I wear ankle socks I get major rubbing and blisters on the back of my heel. So come pring time I might not be able to wear these which bumbs me out. Mud Sean up here is no joke and these would be perfect. Also.. it fits snug around the calf. A little too snug for me but it manageable. I mention this bc I do not have large calfs and I've never had a problem wearing boots and them not fitting around my calf. So if you do have large calfs take this into account.Overall pleased though and would recommend to a friend.

Didn’t disappoint

Had to size down to a 7 because size 8 was sold out. They fit snug but not too snug. Still super comfy, warm and provide good traction. Love the handles for putting them on without a struggle. The subtle camo is perfect.

Comfortable and Warm!!!

I live in Michigan and I am VERY hand/foot sensitive to cold. I can be outside for minutes and already feel the effects in even a 50 degree day. So I bit the bullet and forked out the hefty price for these boots because I am outside every day for up to maybe an hour doing chores. Today is 20 degrees out and I am pleased to say my feet didn't get cold at all. (And that is even while wearing a thin, athletic sock!!) Along with being warm, they are very comfortable and roomy which is what my picky feet need. I'm not sure how they are ALL DAY outside, but I would have to bet with warm socks, they would probably be great. The traction is quite deep, so if you're doing chores, like I do every day (where you might get some animal poo on them), they are very water proof!! With a strong wire brush, they clean up easily in our sink in the barn. They are pretty true to size, bordering on running larger.I love mine and would buy again in a heartbeat!!
