I wrote a review under the Men's Bogs boots and have repeated it here for the benefit of the ladies:We bought a first pair for my husband and he found it really comfortable, tough and had lots of wiggle room inside the boot. Since my husband has flat feet and need a lot of room in the boot, we bought him a boot that was one size up. We tested it out in the bathtub with running water gushing over the boot and stood in water up to about mid calf deep for at least 10 minutes and our feet were absolutely dry. No seepage whatsoever.I bought a pair of the same BOGS boots for myself in a women's cut, and selected a size in accordance to the sizing charts (measure your feet and then match them to the size charts for better accuracy). I found my boots true to size, with some room in the front toes. The lining is comfortable and not hard at all, and I like the neoprene around the calves, and the neoprene parts can be folded down if you do not like having the boot on a high cut all the time. It'll be useful in wet conditions with the pants tucked in. They are quite heavy and solidly built, feels good although slightly clunky but I do not feel clumsy in them. The traction has yet to be tested in wet icy conditions, but it did not feel slippery in the wet bathtub when I tested my boots in (caution -do not try this at home unless you take great care!).
Got size 8 & I usually wear an 8. They are all VEGAN materials! I'm really enjoying these. Almost returned them because they are snug in the bottom ankle area which I wasn't used to, but it gets easier to take on & off after a few times. I have only gone down to 7 degrees & they are warm if you have a full length athletic insert inside. That helps a lot. They are roomy enough for that & wear thick sox too, of course! I think they'll be fine below Zero, but I'll revisit after temps drop further. They look really nice with jeans. They are a tich higher than most snow boots which looks nice, almost like a riding boot. I was just sledding in them & they were great! They are decent on ice too. Good traction.
Bogs are serious snow and work boots and keep your feet warm and dry in all conditions. I bought a pair in 2016 and living in Michigan I wore them everyday from basically October to April and they were excellent. Just this year after wearing them for 7 years they started to crack on the top of the foot so in deep snow water would get thru. They're still good for other weather but now with the 8" of snow we've been getting hit with every week recently I bought a new pair. I'll still wear the old ones doing work around the yard though. The new ones do need to be broken in, so to speak. Plus I've noticed these seem to be a bit tighter around the calves so if you need wide calves don't get these bc you'll end up returning them. I won't buy another brand since these are the best and I've even bought a pair for my husband and he loves em too. Highly recommend! 👍
very comfortable boot, except the shaft is way too small, it cut off circulation in my legs, so have to find a way to stretch it a bit around the calf. Other then that very warm , good Winter Snow Boot, but should've got the one with the handles to pull up easier.
I wanted a carefree pair of boots that are comfortable and warm for long winter and spring in Boston area. These do the job wonderfully. I chose this pair over the patterned ones for a little extra height as well as more room in the calves for tucking things in. I am glad I went with the extra height.True to size fit (I wear Nike 6 and Adidas 5.5 for sneakers and Bogs 6 fit me perfectly with athletic socks), reasonable arch support for rain boots, cushiony bounce, extremely warm (I think they are as warm as Uggs) and completely waterproof. If they get some mud, you can simply hose them down and they look brand new again. There was some concern about traction in the snow in the reviews I read before I purchased these. These don't have deep treads like my North Face Greenland Zip boots. These are designed more for slushy and muddy condition. With that said, I find them perfectly safe on snow as long as it's not sheer icy condition. For sheer ice, I don't know if I would trust anything less than specialty traction gear like Stablicers, etc.So bottomeline, I am extremely happy with these boots for warmth and comfort and I even enjoy the rugged rancher/rider like look.
Used for the first time while leading an all-day field trip to a creek. Although the water in the creek was only calf high, it quickly soaked through the "waterproof" material and collected inside the boots. I was left with cold, wet feet the entire day. On the plus side, the boots were stable even when walking on slippery rocks. I have older pairs of Bogs boots that I used with my students, and these older pairs have always worked well. I'm not sure what the company did to this latest line, but they do not seem as reliable.
These are well made boots. I live in this type of boot and work them hard. But I ordered my usual size (8W) and noticed they required real tugging to get on with regular socks. Worked in them for the first time today -- all day. My feet are really hurting tonight. Original packaging is gone -- I was confident they'd run true to size. And a 9 isn't available anyway. I can recommend them due to quality construction -- but mind the sizing. And keep the packaging for a few days...
I had to laugh when I had an email inviting me to submit an image of these boots. They are currently covered in mud! Anyway, I am so glad that I bought them. I live in the midwest and we've had some crazy weather this winter and these boots have seen me through all of it. I have to admit that they weren't as comfortable as I had hoped at first, but after wearing them for a couple of weeks, they seem to fit like a glove. They are warm even when the temperatures are below 10 (like this morning) and they are completely waterproof so great for tromping around in the mud. They also have a good tread so they work well when it's icy. I am out 2 or 3 times a day walking my dogs so they get plenty of wear but I think these boots will be around for a long long time. I see no signs of wear. They are well worth the price.
