So I own about 5 pairs of these. I am a plumber and excavate sewers mainly but I also do service work and also install hvac. I miss my carnharts that is discontinued but ran across these. Waterproof for about 45 mins you can stand in water before it starts to wick. But I'm talking ankle high standing in a ditch. Not where you can feel the water in boots but that some what damp feeling on socks. But besides that it's great. I dont recomend the normal ones witch I usually get these I had to go wide on but fits normal. Shoe strings did deteriorate on me on 2 pairs but I'm putting them in some stuff conditions wet then dry back and forth . But when I do service I have a pair that is perfect . Soles stay on, leather riped on still too after about 6 months of heavy duty work . But everyday regular service I would say 1 2 years out of them. I say that due to the heels. When I wal I get a 45degree arch lol but that's from reg wear and tear and the way i walk. Cant go wrong with this price. If you guys like the timberland pros these are better. Cheaper and less weight . I feel better waterproofing also. So my choice will be redwings cats carhart for heavy duty in the ditch mud shoveling out door work . Service i would recommend these but if you walk alot maybe composit toe and lighter weight.
The shoe fit perfectly and very comfortable. Wore them all day and no issues.
This is a well made boot. They are quite snug (10m) but wear very well. I have not had a chance to check the waterproof quality, but I expect good results. I don't think you could go wrong with them.Update:These boots are still going strong. The soles are showing very little signs of wear and the waterproofing is still good.
Love these boots. Look good and comfortable but can not wear in the summer. Keeps my feet extra toasty.
My last 3 pairs over the last decade have been Cat Salvo boots. Comfortable, good wear souls and lace up nice. Only thing i wish they'd improve on is the laces. They break within a couple months. Tip, use 550 paracord for laces and they last forever!
TLDR; Comfy, fit nice, thread broke after 2 weeks and they sent me out a new pair no questions asked.Got my boots, fit perfect, felt comfy. The next day I started wearing them to work, and the left one felt amazing, but the right one felt like it needed to be broken in a little (I'm surprised only the right one felt that way). After about a week they felt awesome, kept my feet warm on my way to work early in the morning (and looked good while doing it).2 weeks after they arrived I discovered some of the thread was coming loose. I gave customer service a call and they requested a photo, my size, and my address. Got a new pair a couple of weeks later no questions asked. Now on the weekends when I'm wearing my Adidas, my feet hurt. I love the support these boots and comfy insoles provide.
Great boots. Fit just right. Hard rubber. Put some super glue on. The seams where the thread ends are and they’ll last a long time.
Good quality leather, comfortable fit and size seemed true. One hook for the upper boot lace popped off while simply threading the new lace onto the uppers. It was obvious that the rivet was misaligned in the jig during the manufacture process and the rivet/hook was not properly seated.I took the boot to a local boot repair store and had them rivet a new single rivet hook at a cost of $4 US.Otherwise I expect to get a good year of use from these boots..Update: July 2017: added photos of the areas that needed stitching repair.UPDATE: Feb 1, 2017: I didn't wear these boots as my primary foot wear, so only part time use, strictly walking with no shovel work. As other reviewers have commented: 1) Size maybe slightly smaller than listed. With 10.5 US D wide, my big toe may hit the front if I do not lace them snugly through the fore foot. 2) The seam along the inner side of the boot came completely undone for one boot and it is evident that the other boot was also going to come undone. I really lucked out in my town in that we have a boot repair specialist that was able to sew an outer leather strips over the loosened seams. Cost was a total of $12. He did an excellent repair, matched the leather color and stitch color, looks factory finish. 3) I treated the boots with Sno-Seal before use, and had really good results with the water proofing. I tracked critters through the snow and never got my feet wet.As other have stated, maybe spend a little more and look elsewhere. I'll probably look at the Timberland Pro series for next purchase.
