My daughter got these for Christmas and I got a size bigger ( as reviews suggested) and she LOVES them. Lightweight, warm and so far waterproof although they haven't been put to the water test quite yet. They are slightly big bc i ordered up but she is still comfortable wearing them and with thick socks they will still fit well. They are great for middle school to wear all day unlike normal winter boots that are so big and chunky so thats a plus. Definitely a good boot for the kids, u may even get myself a pair if I can find adult size too
When my son was 5 he noticed the new fully neoprene Bogs boots I got and he loved them, wanted a pair for himself. All black and with the silky fine plush lining. He had long outgrown the fully neoprene Kids size boots that Bogs makes. All their bigger kids sizes are part rubber with the neoprene only on the shaft. Too heavy and clunky for my kids. I saw these this year and just knew they were the answer! They are soft and flexible and stay warm like neoprene, but fully waterproof, so 100 times better! They go on easy and bonus points! They have the same silky fine plush lining inside. He loves them so much, I ordered a second pair!
I got these Columbia Kid's Hiking boots because my kid doesn't like the regular clunky snow boots that can be found in all the big box stores, she literally wore holes in her last pair of "clunkers" because she wouldn't secure them properly and the heels would drag on the ground, I see this a lot with her classmates. So I decided to try and find snow boots that would be somewhat fitted and lower profile, these Colombia boots looked promising. These boots arrived and my kid was ecstatic. She loves how these boots feel, how they fit, how she can zip them up and have a run, they're such an improvement! They were already water resistant but I went ahead and sprayed an additional layer of water resistance on the boots, since we already have a shoe maintenance kit. We prep our shoes/boots every winter for the snow, it's quick, easy and it works great! I could tell that the boots already had a water resistant product on them with how my application of the spray beaded up, as was expected.I'll see how they hold up over the snowy season. Right now I'm inclined to say that these boots are a keeper and we'd be happy to purchase larger sizes as our children hit their growth spurts the next few years.
I bought these for my 9 year old daughter. She is very tiny! These boots are definitely narrow. They happen to fit my daughter because she has such narrow feet. Winter has yet to arrive so I cannot comment on warmth or water resistance. They are good quality for sure! Light weight and has an easy zipper. My kid can slip them off/on without using the zipper which is nice for school. I am happy with the purchase! I will comment again when winter hits and she is playing on the playground in the snow.
My daughter loves these boots. She wanted/new different boots from last winter, she had sorels, and she said they didn't keep her feet dry and were too clunky. She's had bogs before those and those were even clunkier and very heavy, even though bogs r good for dry warm feet. We decided to give these a try since most Colombia items I have are good quality. She loves how light weight they are, the tread in the bottom is also really nice for nonslip. A precious pair from Amazon we ordered were by dream pairs, and the bottom was super slippery, they had to go back. We live in MN and it's going to get cold and wet. So far these boots have been exactly what she wanted and they fit nicely in her backpack if she wants to not wear them.
Very odd fit. I find that there's too much room in the toe area (too long) and simply not enough room at the top of the foot (the vamp). The boot is very warm though, lightweight, and provides lots of traction. The zipper tends to get stuck on the inner fabric though, but the fabric is there to keep the moisture out of the shoe. The size 7 big kids will fit an adult woman size 8.5/9, except that I had issues with the vamp and will need to use a vamp adjuster to improve the fit.
So I got these boots a size larger for my daughter so she has some time to grow into them (get my monies worth)I looked at the stitching and everything was good. I was a little sceptical about how warm they would bring her feet especially being in minnesota when winter comes. Before the first snow fall I had her try them on and she said her feet were "hot" which was alright with me. We had our first snow fall at around 36° so I thought it would be great to walk to the store which was two blocks away. Again she said her feet were hot but felt good and also they did not hurt her feet which is great for the insoles. We played in the snow for about 25 mins and no complaints also having the shoes waterproof really comes in handy when going back indoors. I wore my water resistant hiking boots and I could definitely tell the difference (still waiting on my winter boots via mail)I would definitely recommend buying a pair for so either your own kids or as a gift.
Love Columbia products. These ran small and had to be returned.
