Fits well, not as ridiculously warm as I was somewhat expecting. Being rated to -58F, I expected it to be too warm in the 0-32F range, but even at those temperatures, with mid thickness wool sock, but even at those temps, while not moving, my foot was getting cold.Still a great boot for its waterproofness and warmth. It fits a little wider than expected, I would usually get a 10.5 wide, but have gotten used to wearing an 11 of medium width where I can't find the wide sizes. This shoe is at the edge of being too wide. If I was to wear two layers of socks, might be about right. As is, I wouldn't wear this hiking, but for commuting in the snow, it's great.
If these actually keep my feet warm ice fishing, I'll upgrade to 5 starts. They are up against the white military bunny boots, which are 100% awesome for keeping feet warm all day on a frozen lake, but are not awesome for walking and running is impossible since they literally weigh almost 5 pounds each. These boots are light weight and appear very well made, the removable liner is super think and cushiony. I sprayed them with Neverwet, added a thermal felt insole (it came with a very thin one which I replaced), and put them away in my basement until next winter. I buy Kamik winter boots for my kids as they are reliably waterproof and warm at a very reasonable price, best value out there. So hopefully I'll like the grown up boot just as much.
My husband uses these at work in the winter and is happy with them
What a break for me!!! I needed a cold weather boot because of the 68 inches of unexpected snow fall in my new house in Michigan. I went to the sporting goods stores looking for cold weather boots and my size were all sold out so I went on line to see if I could find the brand name I mentioned in the heading. I noticed that Kamik came up as a recommendation on the left side of the boot site and I looked at them. I tried them expecting them just to suffice until I could get my brand; well I am delighted with the warmth, comfort, fit and flexibility in working in the boot! These boots are not a substitute, they are the equipment I expected to make a difference in my comfort outside in cold weather. Thanks Kamik and Amazon!
I work as a snowboard instructor and live & play outdoors. These boots are up to the task. They're reasonably warm and waterproof in about 2" of water. The sizes run small, and with a winter boot you want to oversize a bit anyway. I probably wouldn't recommend these as a work boot, but for moving around camp, after a day on slopes or just a winter's walk through the ski town, you'll be well served. My gripe is that they are made in India, but are still far superior to the Sorel's made in China. If you want a better product and don't mind spending twice as much, the Kamik Pearson's are made in Canada. I will be purchasing those next time!
These boots are warm, comfortable and water tight. Traction on snow and ice is very good. The leather uppers are strong, durable and rugged. The rubbers have a very good thick sole. On warmer days, I do not even bother with socks. At first I was concerned that the lacing system was not enough to hold the foot in tight for extended walking. However after some difficult snowshoeing and several long hikes, the Kamik Alborg boots have exceeded my expectation. When compared to the current Sorel's on the market today, I believe these are definitely better. For the price you cannot go wrong. I expected these will last me many years. In addition they look good. Well done Kamik!
The two boots came and one was size 10 and the other was size 12. I had to pay for shipping and handling to return the item, and so it was just a big waste of time and money. Oh, and the one boot that did fit, they are overly stiff and not too comfortable. would recommend saving your money and getting something else. I did give it a 3 star rating instead of a 1 star because I did get a full refund once returned and they looked great, just like the picture. They just were uncomfortable...and two different sizes... come on..
I were a size 11.5 normally, I bought the size 12 of the boot, and it fits nicely with a thick pair of wool socks.I went hunting in Colorado, and I was in knee to waist deep snow with these boots, and my feet were NEVER cold. I even steped in a stream beneath the snow and my feet stayed dry and warm. Highly suggest these boots. The leather is thick and solid, looks like it will last for many years.
