I bought these to spoil my husband with a nice Christmas present that was practical. He asked for boots and I wanted to get him something of superior quality. He needed work boots for outdoor work in the winter. We have to haul wood back and forth from the barn to our basement and shovel throughout winter, so these are perfect for the job. He says his feet sweat to death if he wears them to work (he works in an office) so they are excellent for keeping his feet warm in the bitter cold. I know he thinks they are super comfortable because he always wants to wear them. The look is nice/durable and I can tell these will hold up for a long time.
I wasn't expecting this to become some of my favorite footwear. This coming from a guy who's most comfortable in tennis shoes or slippers. Good quality materials and high quality construction that have kept my feet comfy and surefooted from mountains in Colorado to glaciers in Alaska. I like to keep things clean, but I have no problem covering these in mud and walking through pools of water/snow. To me, this is the perfect blend of functionality and aesthetics for a reasonable cost. One year in, and they've only gotten better.
Interior room is designed to accomodate thicker socks. But, overall size is "average", neither too wide or too narrow. My foot is normal to narrow. I found the ball fit well. So, if the ball of your foot is wide, you may need to look some more. These broke in quickly and never produced an wear spots. I was not pleased with the shoe strings provided. They were traditional flat cotton, which will not last long under heavy hiking weekends. Proved to be very waterproof, even around the tongue area. No leaks whatsoever. Outer sole is flexible but stiff enough to handle tough terrain. Your feet bend but feel supported. Some of the best I've tried.
Soft puffy tongue. I have them in black and they match well with jeans/chinos. I grab these if there's snow or ice on the ground that day in Colorado. Only complaint is they maybe are a little bulky so make sure they are the right size! Easy to do with Amazon prime. Just order two and return the ones that don't fit! I love Amazon
I got this pair for my brother he is a size 8 and they fit him as expected he loves the boots he's very happy with them. they were very nice looking and very light. As far as durability I will have to get back to you after the season and let you know how they are holding on.so far so good .
These things are perfect the fit is just right they are very ergonomic and light, they feel like they're part of you when you have them on.I live on a farm and they keep my feet warm all day long even in the 10 degree weather we've been having. the grip on these things are amazing it's like walking around with Michelin tires on your feet, I have timberland boots that are over 10 years old that still look and feel good so I know these things will last quite a while. Hope this review helps you on your search for the right winter boots, Thanks Jason.
Not as comfortable as the last Earth Keepers I bought from Timberland, but still pretty good. (The others are no longer available.) I used Aldo's Protectant Lotion and they broke in the first day I wore them. No blisters or sore spots. These are surprisingly warm for such light boots. I am on my feet all day at work and on concrete. I can't wear regular work boots (for less than $200-300) because they kill my feet. These are a great alternative to that for around $100.
I really liked these boots! The only concern that I have is that I have been using them to walk in the snow and after some time my feet start to get really cold. Maybe they are not designed to do that or maybe I need to use better socks, hehehe! Anyway, besides that, these boots are perfect.
