Since a little big wore thicker socks and still got a blister on my little toe. 5.5 is too small as cannot wear socks and 6 just a little too big. I thought these fit fine with just the socks but I found out the hard way. I will buy inserts to take up more space. I love Totes brand and wore holes in my last pair after three or four hard winters. I had to place inserts in those also. Otherwise the shoes were a little heavy but did not notice after wearing a little while and I love the zipper on both sides. They look good under slacks and jeans and my feet were warm and dry after the 16 inches of snow we had last week in Illinois. My cleats for ice fit over them perfectly. I didn't need the cleats this time but with our winters I surely will, to walk the dog. You can't go wrong with Totes.
These boots are comfortable, but run small. I wear a size 7 in regular shoes but always bump up a size for running shoes, hiking boots or snow boots. So I bought an 8 in these boots. The 8 fit like a normal size 7. Too small for thick socks. So I’m returning and getting a size 9 to see if that’s better. Hopefully so because the boots are reasonably priced and cute. Plus the soles look like they’re sturdy and will prevent slipping on snowy roads.
However, this style and type, I've worn for 9-10 years. Nothing fancy, just zip them up and go. Then unzip and let the boots dry out in a room temperature place like any other weather shoe or boot. Yes, they can survive deep snow and slush, but better for rain and sleet.Would like to see the orange umbrella logo on the sole again. If you want good fitting, rounded toe weather boots - consider these.
These Tote books are comfortable and well-made plus they are reasonably priced.
Bought these boots to replace a similar pair...in fact I also had this exact pair years ago. Had to get a new pair because the outside material of the old boots was peeling off after a couple of years. They still fit, but looked tacky! These boots fit too big in the heel, and too tight across the top of the foot. As a result, I have to wear thinner socks so the top of my foot doesn't hurt. It has been my experience with these boots, though, that they stretch a bit, so I can then wear thicker socks, which should help the heel problem. One caution...do NOT get lazy and attempt to pull them on without unzipping them (ahem...). You will poke holes in them if you do. They are very warm, and have good traction in the snow. I've worn them in below zero weather and feet stayed nice and warm. Zippers can be a little stubborn sometimes, especially when covered in snow. And they do scuff easily. Despite some issues, I like them, and the price was right.
Very comfortable and looks nice
These boots are the most uncomfortable footwear I have ever tried on. There is a strip of inflexible material that pushes down on the base of your toes where your toes meet the rest of your foot. I wear a size 10 or 10 and a 1/2, depending on the particular shoe or boot. Based on other comments on this style, I ordered a size 11 wide. The size 11 is too small- my toes are hitting the end of the boot. The wide width is actually what a medium width would be in any other boot. I selected this style to replace another pair of Totes boots that have become worn out, but this style was a mistake. I would give it zero stars if I could. The seller is ShoeBuy and after consulting their website, I discovered that I have to pay a restocking fee to return them so this will be the one and only time that I buy from that seller. Overall, a horrible experience and I still do not have any boots.
Not as comfortable as I’d hoped. But. Hopefully won’t need to use them much.
