Comfortable
I've bought these same sandals for the 3rd time now. Reason being that they are so tough. The soles last forever. I wear these on the treadmill at the gym and they last about 2 years and take a ridiculous beating. I occasionally scrub them down with a bar of soap in the shower but they can be thrown in the washer too. Great adjustability for my wide foot and affordable.
Keen makes great footwear, no question. I purchased these sandals to hike the Paria Canyon where a significant amount of the hike is in the river. My bad. Although I heard that wearing these sandals in the river will drive you nuts, I did it anyway. I wore them for the first two days before resorting to my back-up boots. The openings on the sides allowed for small pebbles to intrude which, of course, settled into the bottom of the sandal. Stopping to get them out was a pointless endeavor because the first step after doing so would only see more pebbles find their way in. If it weren't for this particular condition, these sandals are absolutely perfect. They are comfy and very durable. I have a pair of Teva sandals that I've owned for nearly 20 years and they are still going strong. The soles on them seem like they will last for eternity. The Keen sandals are, even though only 1 1/2 years old, seemingly similar in their durability. The side openings make for quick water drainage (the reason I bought them for the Paria Canyon hike), therefore lightening the load when traversing through rivers, streams, or even at the beach (where I wear them while surf fishing). Snug is how I would describe the fit, but, that is the fit you want while hiking, especially when encountering many water crossings. Aesthetically, they are great. They can be worn for everyday activity, not just outdoor excursions (just don't wear socks because popular culture says that's a no-no...................unless you have a mullet, too).
I love the comfort of these sandals and being water proof makes them even better. This pair is replacing my existing pair that lasted 4 years before the strings broke and the sole came unglued. The sizing is kind of a mystery to me. The new size is an 11, but recently I also bought the Keen hiking sandal the same size and they were huge on my feet. I exchanged them for a 10 1/2, but they are also a bit too big. I have to wear socks with the hikers to get a good fit. Doesn’t make much sense.
Great shoes. Perfect for walking in cities or the wilderness. Especially good in wet and warm environments.
They are sturdy and sporty. Love the natural color.
