Foot bed is very comfortable , strap design is unique in that a single pull is needed to snug and loosen the sandal.Chaco quality - effortless walking experience.
I already own 2 pair of Chaco's. I love both of them. But I REALLY love these. They fit my foot perfectly and are so lightweight. I can wear them all day in total comfort. The strap and toe loop are very easy to adjust-and I played with the adjustment for a whole week before I found the perfect fit. It is so easy to tweak the fit.I will say you should expect a bit of a break in period. I was expecting that and was prepared for it. All my Chaco sandals put pressure on different spots than my regular shoes do. Not painful-just different. So plan on having your feet or toes get used to having wear in spots where there hasn't been before. But after several weeks of wear, my feet are just fine.
Hard sole, seemed to pinch my left big toe but not my right. Also the strap remaining after adjusting just hangs loosely. They say it needs a break in period but I don't think I would have been happy trying to get there. Returning. Quality material and I think good design just not for me.
I used the Chaco size chart to choose my size, I usually wear EUR 37, so I decided to take the US 6... I tried them on and they are almost exactly the length of my feet, maybe 1-2mm longer, which I would be sort of okay with, but I took a few steps in them and then my foot started to move forward and my toe went outside the shoe/sole, which is not acceptable for me. Also with the toe loop design, it hurts just to have them on, no need to even stand in them, hurts even sitting down. The strap next to the loop is getting into my flesh and leaving marks instantly, which is surely because of the size being too small, the loop starts in the same place my toes do, leaving no space, and even cutting in when pressure is added, well... When I moved my foot back in them a bit I didn't have this issue, because then there was some space between the straps and my foot, I guess that's how it should be. I also tried to loosen the straps a bit and it did help, but they are definitely too small and I can't do anything about that...Very sorry to return them, as I like the design a lot, they feel very secure and make my feet look extremely nice, which doesn't happen often with hiking sandals, or generally sandals. I must say these are the most beautiful sandals I ever tried on, and seem to be the perfect sandals for backpacking, when they would be the main shoes I'd wear (taking one pair of sandals and one covered for jungles/other places better not to have feet exposed), very versatile to style, they go also with dresses. I think the strap to the top of the shoe and it's angle does the magic and also that the toes are visible (I have flatfoot only when standing up... Dunno how that's called in English, but usually my feet look strange in sandals, these make it optically invisible). They are indeed lightweight, solid black (no stupid accent colors), have great arch support and are easy to adjust, generally you just need to loosen the strap, slip in, and tighten again, well, I generally love them, but the size is wrong. I will try to get them one size bigger, or maybe even two, but won't get to try them until next summer/closest vacation, as they wouldn't arrive before my next trip to Peru, I was very excited though, especially to check the traction in water...
I purchased my first pair of chacos in 2008, I still have them and they look pretty dang good still. I wear chacos all winter long, due to my super high arches. I have worn the crap out of my first pair and they are still going strong. These new shoes chaco is putting out are crap! The soles are hard, the arch support is very lacking and the price is ridiculous. Don’t waste your time on trying this shoe out, if you love the old chacos from years ago.
I absolutely love these sandals. I ordered them for a recent cruise. They took no time to "wear in", and they are more lightweight than my other pair of Chacos. They were supportive and comfortable enough to wear for an excursion to walk/hike around ruins and to a nature park. I love the color, too!
