Will last a good while. Comfortable
Ordered these sandals in September 2023, and since October 2023 (now 4 months) have worn them part or all of everyday, both with and without socks. Recently moved to size 11 1/2 extra wide in shoes; ordered these sandals in 11 wide, and they fit perfect. Design is great. Once you have the front, instep, and rear straps adjusted as you like, pop the instep velcro strap, loosen, and slide your foot out; putting on, just slide your foot in, pull up, tighten and fasten instep velcro. If you don't think you have enough cushioning on insole, get trim-to-fit insoles, slap about a 2 inch piece of double-stick on bottom at arch area, and put it in. Have been doing a trial on that for a few days and is just great. Inside, outside damp or dry, no problem. In a nutshell, these open toe sandals couldn't be better as far as I'm concerned.
I haven’t had them long, so durability is still unknown. Nunn B makes pretty solid footwear so my hopes are high. As for the details, these are super easy to put on. For those like me who are (for the time being, anyway) physically limited who need footwear that is easy-on easy-off these are about as easy as it gets. I can use my grabber and take them off and put them on easily due to the Velcro attachments. When on my feet I slide the back strap down with my grabber, and simply slip them off. Even with socks on (I wear mine as shoes do to disability) it’s still easy to do. Use the grabber to pick them up, undo the Velcro on all 3 straps, pulling them somewhat loose. Slide your feet in and then use a grabber to cinch the Velcro. If you are buying these for normal sandal use they seem very capable. They have a teva-like upper but better and with leather accents. The footbed is even better than a Teva though, it feels like a dense memory foam. Not sure if it is but it feels like it. The bottom tread is very grippy, although I haven’t worn them in icy conditions yet. I got mine on sale for $49. I highly recommend them. Especially at that price. It’s hard to find good Velcro open toe sandals with a proper back-strap which is 100% crucial for people like me for stability and shoe-like use. Keen makes one (Targhee III I believe. It’s a full range of boots/shoes/sandal with the name Targhee) that is also very nice and has full leather uppers but it’s also almost 3 times the price at $150 retail. If that one is on sale I’d also recommend it. I got a set on sale for $90. Anyway, I highly recommend these specific NB sandals. They make a couple other models with slightly different designs and different tread. I haven’t tried those. Happy Sandaling! 😀Oh, and the fit is pretty true-to-size. I wear an 11 in Vans, Keen sandals, Dr Martens shoes, Converse All Stars etc and these at size 11 fit just right.
These felt so comfortable right out of the box. Game over, now my go to sandal.
Firstly, I think the 5 star rating is biased due to the discounted price at which I purchased these. For $40 these are Well worth the price. At the original $70, maybe not so much.I have had many versions of this style sandal and for the most part they are all very similar with an occasional annoyance. This particular one has had none of the annoyances and all of the pluses for its design. Some of the things that these sandals do NOT have are as follows:-The back strap is not hard so when you slide it on quickly and don't pull the strap over your heal, you don't have to walk on something that stabs the bottom of your foot.-The strapping that goes over your feet is not stiff or rough so it doesn't dig into your foot causing skin loss or blistering.-The rubber sole is not just made of a hard plastic so that when it starts to get worn, you don't slip and slide when you walk on painted surfaces. The things that it DOES have are:-The Velcro is nice and long so you don't have to pull it so tight to avoid the velcro opening up.The insole is comfortable and grippy enough so that your feet don't slide around in them.-The straps are soft enough not to irritate your feet but strong enough so that I don't have to worry that they'll give out.It seems very well built unlike many of the 'cheaper' variations that I have owned.Thoughts for the future:- I'm hoping that where the straps are connected between the sole and insole are built as well as they look so that they don't pull apart as many of my previous sandals have. This seems to be the main failure point of this type of sandal. At a normal price point of $70, and seeing and feeling the quality of this brand, I'm hoping that they will last long into the future.I am very satisfied with this sandal.
My husband likes them. He says they are comfortable. He wears a 10.5 , purchased a size 11. They are a little big should have gotten a size smaller.
Kind of cheap looking
Not bad for 40 bucks. Truly.I only bought them to keep from stepping on staples and thumbtacks at home, so I'm not the most critical reviewer for good or bad. The velcro straps are a bit uncomfortable across the top of the foot and in the back. Plus the straps are arranged so that you can't just kick the sandals on and off. Some might consider this a good thing; I'll reserve judgment for a few months and see if they get friendlier as they break in. It might be my own fault, I had to buy them a bit oversized because of my wide feet. Width is fine; length is a bit much. Nice quality for manmade materials.
