Exceptional sandals with high arched support (i am severely flat-footed) that allow these to be worn for several days without fatigue. Other great attributes of these sandals are: in-sole is cushiony and gentle; top is well-padded, synthetic, provides good ventilation and dries quickly; sole is rugged with tread to take on even steeply sloped hills and an adjustment strap to customize to one's feet.
It took forever for him to finally try them on. He wasn’t a “sandle” kind of guy! Once he did though, they became his lawn mowing shoes, his boat shoes, his slippers. Very comfortable and hard working shoe. Good thick & flexible soles too!
I had a pair of Teva Deacon sandals, size 12, for many years. I LOVED those so much. They were so freaking comfortable to wear almost anywhere. I could go barefoot and not worry about the straps rubbing wrong on my feet. I could wear socks (highly stylish, I know..) and they were great in any weather except maybe snow. And, most importantly, they were broken in and I could slip on and off - that was wonderful! Now let's talk about these Forebays. Wife got me size 12 for Christmas. Could barely get them on, so exchanged for size 13. Much, much better fit. However, I am PRAYING that these continue to break in. After about 10 days, these are slowly stretching out a bit, and getting more comfortable to wear. But we are nowhere close to the old Deacons just yet.Three things are really bugging me. Not sure if they will improve or not. First, the ankle "hole" is quite a bit smaller on these Forebays. As mentioned, I expect they will expand a bit over time. But right now, I've got the strap that goes over the top of the foot only halfway attached. Hard to explain. Put it this way, I pulled back the velcro strap to open up the ankle hole as much as possible. Then I re-attached the velcro strap, but only covering about half of the strip (as I'm looking down on it). Even then, I am fighting HARD to *slip* my foot in with thick socks. With thin socks, it's a minor challenge. Barefoot, no issue.Second complaint. My pinky toe keeps catching on the holes. It's just in the wrong spot, where my pinky toe starts to pop out, especially when I'm seated. Then I stand up, and my foot moves forward just a bit - but my pinky toes are catching. Easy to adjust and fix, but annoying that it's happening at all. Did not happen with the old Deacons.Third issue. The footbed is just not as comfortable as my Deacons. Maybe that will improve over time, but it's just not as comfortable to take the dog for a walk in these Forebays, as it was my old Deacons. By comfortable, I mean the arch support is different, and I can feel where the strap is rubbing against my feet as I walk. No blisters - have walked 2mi many times in the past 10 days with these - but it just doesn't feel as comfortable.I'll keep them, as I've worn them outside. And they're OK. But what I wouldn't give for a model identical to my old Deacons...
This is a comfortable sandal. The size is accurate and the fit of these are better than any other pair of Tea sandals I've owned.
I have been wearing these for several years I get about a year and a half out of them. I rotate the old pair to work sandals I find them comfortable and durable and because their closed toes I get some protection. I live in SE Texas and wear them year round use socks if it gets chilly. The straps and velcro do not give out the sole usually fails and separates and when I see it start I get a new pair. First time buying them from Amazon the store I was getting them at local did not have them.
Great shoe....he wears them all summer...this is his third pair in 5 years.
The shoe seems excellently made but the length isn't right. I have a 10.5 length foot and in an 11 my toes just brush the front sideComparing this model to my other tivas where that does not happen the reason appears to be the aggressive slant on the heel cup. The bottom of my heel isn't touching the cup only the top .I suspect this also explains a the 1-star reviews of people saying it chafed their heel. I didn't wear this a long time before I returned it so I can't comment. But the heel strap is padded not rough so that can't be the reason some people chafe. It's probably just this weird fit their
Great fit even for narrow feet!
