These are simply the most comfortable casual shoes I've ever owned. I've had them for about 6 weeks and wear them almost every day. First, they are open enough to feel like sandals, but have enough structure to make me feel comfortable wearing them in either rugged outdoor areas or crowded metro areas where you need a bit more protection from clumsy people or the carts they push. Second, I've had plantar fasciitis in the past and need more substantial arch support than average shoes. On nikes or dress shoes I typically remove the low grade insole and replace it with a special insert that gives robust support. For this reason I have almost never found a pair of sandal type shoes that I could wear without a lot of foot fatigue or pain. These Tevas have excellent, higher than average arches which makes it possible for me to wear these all day with no problem, no pain, and NO FATIGUE! I am beyond pleased—I'm delighted! And, while I wouldn't want to run any real distance in them, they are supportive enough that I would not give any thought to running to the end of the block and back to retrieve a fleeing dog. Third, there are a couple of ways to adjust the fit on the heal and over the top of the foot. I was nervous when I put them on right out of the box... It was tight and uncomfortable across the top, and the heal was a little tight. Both have velcro adjustment strips, which I adjusted and ended up with an excellent fit. Lastly, the snap-in clip for the top strap makes them a breeze to get on and off in a hurry.I haven't had them long enough to know if they will hold up over the long haul, but after 45-ish days of use, they show no wear (though I've been in the mud with once or twice and wiped them off), nor do they appear to be weak or poorly constructed. I love these shoes and will buy them again!2019 Update:Heading into my 2nd season with these. Still love them and have looked forward to being back in them throughout winter. They are showing a little more age on the top, but they are not ragged by any means. The leather upper appears to be more "wavy" or slightly curled as you might expect after it had been wet a few times. This doesn't impact the construction or comfort... they just don't look brand new. They have loosened up slightly, so i'm adjusting the velcro straps to compensate. I'm glad spring is here... I've already been back in them several times. Still feel perfect with the slight velcro adjustment. Based on wear over the first season, and now into the second, I'm guessing i can get at least 2 or 3 more years out of them -- probably more, depending on how rough I am on them.
Great sandals/shoes. More than just a sandal. Great arch and comfort. Loved first pair and 30 days later bought a second in different color.
All I purchase is Tevas. Don’t like the Keens. Keens are way too tight and the insole is off. Feels like you have a lump of coal in your shoe. The Tevas are perfect. I take a 10.5 and always go a half size up to 11. Fit perfect and very comfortable. The stretchy part at the top that folks didn’t like didn’t exist. Very easy to slip into with no chaffing anywhere. I really like the 3 options for a custom fit. An adjustable buckle at the top, an adjustable heel strap to keep you snug in the shoe and a elastic lace with lock at the instep (top) to snug up the sides if needed. I have a pair of 3 Year open toe sandals that I love and wear non stop during the summer. Still in great shape and I’m hard on my shoes. I needed a good hiking shoe that was comfortable to wear open and breathable and had closed toe as I’m using these in Costa Rica and most adventures required a closed toe shoe. Rich brown color. highly recommend.
First of all I bought a second pair of these. They are average in many respects, and with sandals that’s good!I’m always banging my feet so having the protection the sandals afford keeps me from small foot injuries, toe bangs, etc.I’ve always had good luck with the Teva brand. I’ve only tried Chacos once, and they were a fail. Same for Keen. I just threw out some Tevas that I bought in 1990! And the one time I did have trouble with Tevas, their customer service was great. I cannot say the same for Keen or Chacos. These sandals are great overall sandals. I can take them many places and have them function as shoes or sandals. They are durable and useful across a range of uses. On my most informal days I can wear them around town. The biggest praise I can offer these sandals is that I bought a second pair. I have not found a better all-around sandal. For me a 3-star rating means that something is average or as they should be. From there things get better or worse.
Great quality. Fit is good. My second pair of Teva. I am still using my original pair that I've had for over 11 years. I use them almost daily. The quality is out of this world.
These are very nice. They are what I'd hoped for, considering size and comfort. The buckle is on the outside (right side of right foot, left side of left foot) and that makes them slightly difficult to buckle. Being 73 years old is the problem, not the design of the shoe. I'd buy them again.
I have had several pairs of these sandals. They are extremely versatile and comfortable whether walking on desert trails or city side walks. I like the extra toe protection these sandals offer.
