These look even cooler in person….for me, they fit perfectly true to size. I was worried after reading other reviews, but they fit perfect. They have a very cushiony feel and no rubs. Plenty of room in toe area, and I ordered another pair as backup, since a good court shoe is worth buying 2.
Love the support these shoes offer. They did take a little time to break in. Very comfortable and not too heavy. Definitely will buy another pair.
These are my first Adidas shoes in many years so I do not have much experience with their sizing, but I ordered two different Adidas model tennis shoes (Barricade and Court Jam) and both ran 1/2 size too large for me. I am a pronator and need a motion control shoe and while I like the look of the Court Jam (CJ) better, the Barricade is a more supportive shoe. I have to wear my own insoles and the CJ did not have a removable insole, while the Barricade did, so obviously the insole fit better in the Barricade. The CJ feels flat in the arch area while the barricade does have an arch on its own. The tongue is definitely weird and they felt very clunky and stiff, but I have been wearing running shoes for years and they have all fabric uppers so I think I am just not used to these materials. I have not worn these yet as I am waiting on the exchanged size, but I am hopeful they will be supportive and I will update this review if things go poorly. :)
Didn’t like the fit, hard to get on and off.
The sides of the shoes ride too high on the ankle bones. The first 2 times I wore them I had to change back in to last pair of shoes because they rubbed to hard on my ankle bones. I had to take the shoe laces out of the top holes and tie them looser. That makes them work but should be able to lace them up and have a good fit. I love the looks! I got the purple ones, which is my favorite color, so I am keeping them.
My game hasn’t improved but I have the coolest shoes on the pickleball court. Fit great……make sure you pull the tongue flat so you don’t have any wrinkles before lacing.
Met expectations
I was so excited to try this shoe because of the color and design. The purple and blue hombre design are gorgeous. I found a tennis skirt and water bottle to match as our league outfit; however, the shoe has a flimsy tongue and new diagonal lacing design that rubs my instep. This shoe would not be functional as a tennis shoe for me.
