The GEL-RESOLUTION 8 tennis shoe promotes a responsive stride with a close-to-the-court feel. The FLEXION FIT upper provides form-fitting support with the integration of DYNAWALL technology, which offers added midfoot stability during lateral movements and coast-to-coast coverage. Implementing a torque control feature in the heel counter, this shoe is also designed to help maintain a locked in feel during quick transitions. Featuring GEL technology cushioning in the heel and midfoot, this shoe helps reduce the impact of shock from abrupt stop and go movements on court. Additionally, the model also incorporates an AHAR compound in the outsole that works in conjunction with the PGUARD toe protector to increase traction on court and reduce the overall level of wear. Creating an accelerated response with a natural close-to-the-ground feel, the GEL-RESOLUTION 8 tennis shoe helps you approach your matches with confidence.

Having tried out the Gel-Resolution 8 Tennis Shoes for pickleball, I've found them to be quite reliable. They offer solid stability and support, which have definitely helped with my lateral movements on the court. Additionally, the Gel cushioning technology provides decent comfort for extended play sessions.
It takes some getting used to, feels tight but I think it is intentional for great support and stability
The shoes are a baby blue color rather than the navy-looking blue in the pictures. Other than that, the shoes are pretty comfortable. My big toes get a little sore, but not from lack of room. Can't quite figure out what is causing the discomfort. I would recommend these shoes. They are holding up nicely.
These are my first exclusive pair of tennis shoes .I used to play with my regular running shoes until I upgraded to this one .My feet is comfortable while playing . Did not require any breaking in , the heel support while playing feels comfy!
There is a reason this was rated the best tennis shoe on the market when I bought it. The support and durability is unmatched compared to any tennis shoe I have ever worn.I am 65 years old and play 2 to 4 times a week. I am a heavier guy and have a tendency to wear down my shoes rather quickly. But after a year of use these shoes show no wear. They are also rather stiff and offer excellent support. My only criticism would be is they are Not as comfortable as other shoes I've worn but I think that is the price you pay for the incredible support they offer and is a price I'm more than willing to pay. Obviously the reviews were right when I bought this shoe and they said it was the number one shoe on the market.
I've owned and enjoyed previous versions of the Asics Gel Resolution line and believe these to be extremely stable and solid shoes. They have tended to be quite narrow, but after stretching out they have always evolved into a glove-like fit for my relatively narrow feet. However, the Gel Resolution 8 has a new feature that for me is a fatal flaw, making these shoes impossible for me to wear (without modification). I have very high arches, and the Gel Resolution has a novel "arch wrapping" feature, where there is a band of mesh/plastic that extends from both sides of the sole (where it is a few inches wide) up and over the top of the foot, where there is a narrow, accent colored and rigid "shoe lace" that ties the two halves of the band together. This band does not expand in any way, and has a fixed maximum circumference. If you have wider feet or a high arch, it will dig into the top of your foot. You might not even be able to put the shoe on.But because I like this line of shoes so much and didn't want to return them, I decided to cut this band out completely, starting where it ties into the sole. This worked perfectly, because after that I could see that the toe box on the Resolution 8 is actually wider than the earlier versions, the shoe fit very comfortably, and the pain and compression on the top of my foot from the unusual "band" was gone. So, if you are willing to modify the shoe, or if your arch is low and foot narrow and the "band" doesn't bother you, these are great shoes. After my "surgical" modification :-), I would give these shoes a 5. Asics should either abandon this failed experiment with a new feature that I've never seen on any other shoe, or else make the "band" adjustable by incorporating it into the lacing mechanism without a hard stop on the circumference, so people with high arches can wear the shoe.
I purchased size 11.5 Wide of the ASICS Men's Gel-Resolution 8 Tennis Shoes. I usually wear 11.5 athletic shoes in sizes that have wider designs such as Adidas (Nike is too narrow for me generally). The wide version of this shoe fit great! The normal version must be narrow. So glad they make a wider size. The shoe is very supportive with good traction (only worn on hard court) but not heavy or clunky. The build quality is very good. Out of the box the shoe was comfortable and required hardly any break in. This shoe allows me to concentrate on my game and helps with my confidence. I can move around the court quickly and surely... and it soaks up impact, sudden stops, and split steps well too. I think my foot work is improving a bit since getting these. Two thumbs up!
The shoes were on sale for some reason in wide so I purchased white which I haven't done in years. They were so white I disliked the appearance but decided I could live with all white if I had too. After adding black shoelaces, it completely changed the appearance from an old guy/dad shoe to the cool Asics gel resolution we love. The wide is not really Ee but it's still much wider than the D width. I've worn these shoes for about 10 years and have no reason to ever change. I'm on the court for a couple of hours a week and these hold up as well as any. I'm 5'9, 180 and around a 4.0+ to 4.5 player. Hope this helps someone else.
