I don't understand why the shoe is listed as "athletic shoe" though it came up when I searched for dance sneakers. The forefoot of the sole is designed for dancing. I ordered size 6.5 whereas I wear 6 normally. That came out perfect. There is not much arch support . It is what I prefer any way.The shoes are very comfortable, light and turn/swivel very well. Love them .Will look for another color and stay with this size.
I like these dance sneakers. They are comfortable and serve their purpose well. I did have to take a half size up as they run small.
I've been doing dance classes for several years. These shoes make it easy to spin, glide and move. The only issue I have is that there is no support. There is not enough room to add an insert since you cannot remove the current insert. My heels and arches hurt. Go 1 size up for room for insert. I'm a size 12 in normal shoes. Wish they fixed the insole or made size 13.
Very nice sneaker like dance shoes. I am new to dancing and have some foot issues so I needed something that was as close to a sneaker as I could find. I tried on about five different shoes and this one with going up to sizes fits well. But there is no arch support and you cannot put your own orthotics in them so I will have to glue some arch supports in. They are really fun I ordered the color pink and for West Coast swing I think these will be just the thing
This Bloch shoe is great! I ordered it for Zumba. When it came I checked the sole immediately and found there's a very good sweet spot for spinning. The shoe is lightweight and flexable . However, as per other reviews they run small. I take a solid 8 but ordered nine and they fit well. I would definitely recommend this shoe for anybody doing zumba or dance. It's a sporty looking shoe also. Geri from NJ
These shoes run very small - I’d say get 1 to 1 1/2 size up. But the main reason for the low rating is that the shoes are much too slippery to trust for Zumba. I guess they’d be fine on a carpeted surface, but the gym floor I use for Zumba makes these shoes unusable. I wore them once and cannot return due to wear, and have tried them multiple times since and not only do my feet ache (despite getting a full size up, these shoes have unforgivingly hard soles and they just don’t move with me) but i’m worried about my feet sliding out from me. I bought these shoes specifically to have some slide and good pivot ability but they simply don’t feel safe to wear. I should have simply replaced my old Corky’s dance sneaker with a new pair - they allowed great movement without excess slipperiness. Disappointed that I wasted money on these.
I have been on the hunt for a perfect Zumba shoe since Ryka discontinued the ones I really loved, and sadly, these are not it. The support is fine, and they are lightweight, both positives. However, there is absolutely NO traction on the bottom of the shoes, and if you're dancing on hardwood studio floors or on basketball courts, etc, you will eventually fall, guaranteed. Perhaps if you have to dance on asphalt or some other kind of grippy surface, these might suffice. For me, though,I spent my whole Zumba class yesterday being annoyed that I was having to concentrate so hard on not slipping that I couldn't do the moves. The sugarcane-cutting move? Forget it. Salsa? Not happening. The search continues...
I bought these shoes for a dance team audition. They are super easy to turn in on a gymnasium polished wood floor, but not overly slippery. Literally the perfect middle ground. I love that the shoes are pretty flat so you don’t have to worry about any incline or heel as you dance like most jazz shoes. Also the shoes are super cute and look like regular Nike athletic shoes, just without a logo. Some commenters are saying the shoes fit big, but honestly I almost wish I would have bought a size down just to try because I have just a smidge-bit of room in the toes.Just bear in mind most commenters are using the shoes for Zumba- I’m a young woman and pretty in shape so I don’t have wide feet or anything. If you have normal-sized feet don’t worry about sizing up. If you’re a dancer you’ll know that you want your shoes slightly fitted so you get a good grip to the ground.
