Dansko shoes provide great support and a nice roomy toe area so you can wear decent socks too. The red color is fun.
I needed some waterproof shoes for a trip we were taking to Ireland. When I got the dansko waterproof shoes I decided I was going to return them. They are heavy compared to my Merrells and the sole so much thicker I was afraid I might twist my ankle. I was on the fence about comfort. At the last minute I decided to put them in my suitcase. If I didn't use them I could still return them. While on the trip it rained a lot the first part of the trip and thought these danskos sure would be handy. I wore them around the room and decided to go ahead and give them a try. They are comfortable with plenty of toe-box room. Definitely kept my feet dry. I kind of feel like the insole could be cushier as the soles of my feet hurt a little by the end of the day. BUT they WERE new shoes, and I WAS on my feel longer than usual. For the trip they ended up working out great, and now that I am home, (even though no rain around here) I find myself grabbing my danskos for dog walking and running arrands. BTW, I don't feel in danger of twisting my ankle. They are solid and stable. My favorite shoes!UPDATE: I still love these shoes. They are holding up great! But they have faded from black to grey with a little green tinge. I wear them all the time but haven't really been in wet environments since our trip. Don't know why they faded. I the fabric behind the heals has also worn away. Even though the fading is not good, I would still rate these a 5. I love them.
I have never wore this brand before, and I'm glad I found these! These shoes are very comfortable, just what I was looking for. I spend 10-12hrs on my feet at work.I normally wear a 9-9.5, and ordered the size 40. They fit me like a 9.5. They may be on the small side for a size 10, with average width.I have high arches, these are medium/high. Wearing around town or shopping I wouldn't need extra, but I have orthotics for work. The foot-bed is well cushioned, especially in the heel. The sole is high quality and is supportive, but cushioned and shock absorbing at the same time. It gives you a slight spring in your step.I have average foot width, but have bunions which make my forefoot wider. In ordinary shoes brands I order a wide because of the toe-box area being smaller. The toe-box on these is roomy, and the soft suede is comfortable on pressure points. I like how the shoe has more eyelets for laces. They make the shoe more adjustable and make your foot look smaller!!! I just ordered a second pair!
I bought my first pair at Zappos and this second pair, black, at Amazon, as Zappos colors and sizes were very limited at the time (I like Zappos policies and shipping much better, but again, the second shoe wasn't available). The shoe shape is ... not the most attractive, somewhat rounded and bulby like a Keen, BUT, despite that, it does look cute. My picky sister thought they were cute too, not orthopedic and clunky like many of the Dansko shoes. I like the colors, and, although some customers complained, I feel bouncy yet sturdy in the shoes. I wanted a shoe that I could wear with slacks but not uncomfortable, more like a tennis shoe-oxford tie hybrid. The uppers are very stiff so I can't tighten the lower lace area, but that isn't necessary at this time. I started wearing Dansko when I had plantar fasciitis; I had much wider feet at that time so I wouldn't have been able to wear this shoe model as it's not wide. Some folks complained that the sole was slippery on wet floors; I cannot address that I didn't want to wear them my first time in winter nor do I work on wet floors; I'm sure they would do as well as any non-snow boot on snow and ice. I can't address the arch support; I have flat arches but don't notice either way with this shoe.
I have worn Dansko Paisley sneakers for work for years. They are most comfortable with arch support and little heel cushion as well. They are a little narrow on the toe box so if you have flat and wide feet , you must order one size up and wide width.
This is my second pair of Paisleys, I love these shoes. Most of my shoes are Dansko (sneakers, sandals, hiking shoes, etc.) and I always get the same size and they always fit perfectly. These are super comfortable and very cute.
I really wanted to love these shoes, but they are simply not as advertised. This is super disappointing since since they’re not inexpensive. As far as comfort, they cannot be beat! I’m a baker and am on my feet 8-10 hours a day. I have an unfortunate combination of high arches, narrow heels, and bunions. Finding a shoe that fits well, yet alone is comfortable is very difficult. These Dansco shoes are not only comfortable, but offer amazing arch support and enough room in the toe box that my bunions aren’t rubbing on the side of the shoe. They are also relatively easy to break in, which took about 4-5 days. Word of caution, order up a half size. Now that all the good thing have been addressed, let’s talk about the bad. These shoes are advertised as slip resistant, which they are definitely NOT. The very first time I walked across a freshly mopped work floor I nearly face planted into a prep table! This is really frustrating since I’m required to have slip resistant shoes for work. These shoes are also advertised as water resistant, which they are not! The first thing I do when I get home from work is take off my shoes because my socks are wet.So, to review…. Very comfortable and well made shoe which should hold up for a while. Shoes are NOT slip resistant and they are NOT water resistant, which is very disappointing and dangerous if you’re buying these with the intention of using them as a work shoe.
