First off, I usually wear a 10 medium, I ordered an 11 based on previous reviews of it running small. The instep where you slide your foot into IS kinda tight, but I assumed that there would be some stretch, and there was. It is a mostly flat insole, not much of an arch support. So if you have a high arch it might not work for you. I broke these shoes in by starting out in bare feat in the shoe. After walking around the in the house for about a week off and on I can feel it had stretched a bit. I then went to thin socks. As the shoe stretches it also formed to my foot well. This is a slide in, slide off shoe that I usually wear around the house. They work for me.
I really would like to wear these shoes more often. I need a shoe horn to get them on my feet. I am keeping them, but probably I should have a half size larger. It is one challenge of ordering shoes on the internet...
Had an old pair of slides, that I wore until they just about literally fell off my feet. Finally, bit the bullet, and bought something (slightly) different, since I could no longer find those. I love these shoes! They're comfortable, right out of the box, the color is great, they darkened with just a little bit of oil...and they're EASY to kick on and off at the front door!
Read some reviews that said these run small, so I ordered a half size larger. The problem is not really the overall size, it's that the part of the shoe running across the top of your foot is low and has no give. If you have medium to high arches, you won't be able to get your foot all the way into the shoe. (I even tried shoe stretcher spray that I bought on Amazon. No dice.) Since I get get my foot all the way in, my heel pushes out the back, sitting over or too tightly against the back lip, and it wore that part of the shoe out quickly. Already worn through in a couple of months. It's a shame because it's otherwise a well constructed, nice looking shoe. If you have flat feet, it's probably a good shoe.
I normally take a size 11.5 to 12 shoe. I saw that many people had mentioned in their reviews that these ran small, so I made sure to use the fitting guide provided to select the right size for me to order. It said that size 12 should be right for me so that's what I ordered. The shoes came early on the second day after I had ordered them and I put on some thin dress socks and tried them on. Or, more accurately, I attempted to try them on. I couldn't get more then half my foot into the shoe. Maybe I just have fat feet. Maybe it's because I have a high instep. Maybe it's because these shoes don't have any elastic on either side of where the tongue would be if they had laces like many other slip-on shoes have.Whatever the reason, they're going back. If you're a thin person with a low instep these might work for you, but they don't for me.
Despite all reviews saying they run small, i still bought regular size. They were hard to get my foot all the way in. Then liberally rubbed down with rubbing alcohol and directly after alcohol use petroleum jelly. Then went around each stretching it and wore rest of day. Next morning they were perfect fit.
The shoes are well made and once you figure out the size you need, they are quite comfortable. They were for my son, who normally wears a 10. I first ordered a 10 1/2 and they were too small. He asked for an 11 1/2 and they fit great!
They look great fit very well thanks to the other reviewers that recommend to go up a size I wear 11 wide so I ordered size 12 wide very glad I did I am sure 11 would of been too small
