I bought these based on a blog I saw that recommended them for touring Europe if you have foot issues. It was an impulse purchase, last-minute, and I was dubious, but the writer was correct, they were great. I changed out the light blue laces on the black Brewess sneakers with navy laces before we left for Lisbon, and instantly they were more shoe-like in look and able to be worn with black travel pants for a more "dressed up" evening look. If you are a "light packing traveler," with only a carry-on for luggage, these are a great choice. I laced them in a "straight bar lace" fashion so they would look even more like shoes. As for comfort, I found that I personally had to wear thin socks to have a wide enough interior space to avoid foot pain between my third, fourth and fifth toes, but this did alleviate discomfort, along with switching to my altra sneakers every couple of days. The sole is very hard, which meant I did not need to add superfeet inner soles, which was lucky, because the Brewess do not have a removable insole. The level walking bed was very comfortable after a brief break-in period. We walked steep hills all day for 9 days, averaging 5 miles a day, and yet I was fine with putting them back on again each day. I can't say that would be the case with any other shoe I own except my altra+superfeet combo. It did not rain during our trip so I can't speak about whether they perform well in wet or slippery conditions. They seem very well made, and durable, and I suspect I will have them for a long time.Overall I highly recommend these as all-purpose travel shoes.
Awesome! Wife didn’t even want to take them off. Very comfortable!
Awaiting a refund. Will change the stars once that happens. Been nearly two weeks now no refund. Shoe looks adorable. But just above the big toe range the inside stitch is thick and presses into the skin. Very annoying and uncomfortable. For price you would hope they could have been stitched properly. This is the case on both right and left shoe.
Pleasantly surprised with how they held up in muddy quicksand like water of Bass Lake CA. They did dry quick. My feet were able to tan right along with the rest of me. Negatives: Quality doesn’t match asking price. Didn’t hit arch right. shoe is a bit larger than what size suggests. If they were priced around $50, I would say it would be worth it.
