Bought these to use as "creek shoes" and have to say they're great sneakers with a sole thick and grippy enough to keep me safe wading in a rocky creek and comfortable walking on the tippy rocks creekside. I broke them in on urban pavement and they're great there, too. The laces are also good as they're grippy enough to not easily untie, even just single-knotted. (only way I've undone the laces was by stepping on one of the ends inadvertently)... they are stable and comfortable. The one downside is that it takes a while during humid weather for them to air-dry (about 2 days without toweling them down in 90% humidity) but if you are going to don them daily for wading that's not an issue. Tip: Lace tighter than usual and double-knot as they fit snug to the ankle, less likely to slip off (they never did for me even single-knotted). Ventilated top and sides allow the water to flow through and drain out quickly. Wore with the performance recovery socks shown in the photo and they were SUPER comfy.
My wife has artharidis ,she has trouble finding support and comfort ,these hit the bullseye
Sturdy, versatile, comfortable and well designed shoe.
I put the shoes to the test with an ambitious outdoor trip that included getting them wet (whitewater rafting, kayaking, wading through water in a slot canyon), plus needing good grip while rock scrambing and hiking. They were work horses and cute at the same time! They dry quickly and are comfortable to wear while wet, and I felt very secure traversing smooth rocky inclines and climbing over boulders. They look good for everyday errands too. I did put gel heel inserts in them for hiking as the insole has very little padding, and that worked great. The toe box is roomy and I have zero heel slip, which I really appreciated, especially since I'm more of a 5.5/6 rather than a true size six.
i have been looking for new shoes since a recent knee replacement and these have met all my needs. they’re lightweight, they fit well, and no breaking in needed! i’m definitely thinking of getting a back up pair!
Stitching under the tongue is really, really rough and irritating. If you plan to wear without socks, it will cause abrasion to top of foot. . Had to return them for my purposes. But super cute and comfy fit otherwise! Bummed!
I can't say how comfortable or durable these shoes are. All I know is that if you have Morton's toe or probably just long toes in general, these shoes are not for you. They are very wide in the toe box but also very short. I'm usually between a 9 and 9.5 women's. I tried a 9.5, and the toe box was very loose on the sides, yet my second and third toes were jammed into the end of the shoe. The sharp angle of the end of the toe box does not accommodate for 2nd or 3rd toes being longer than the big toe.In comparison, the TR1 had a much better toe box for people who have Morton's toe.
These shoes are great. I wore them all day white water rafting with no blisters or rubbing. I even fell out when our raft almost capsized and they stayed securely on my feet as I floated down the river. They protected my feet from the rocks in the river until I could be rescued by another boat.
