I have a high/thick instep and struggle with boots so I buy a wide width. These were just not quite wide enough. I could get my foot in, but the squeeze on the whole width of my foot was just painful and breaking them in wouldn't give me enough space. Nice looking boots. The shaft is a very very soft leather though, which I imagine would quickly get very slumpy.
