Update 07/24/2020. I have now been wearing this model of shoe for 8 years. The first pair finally wore out after 5 years, wearing every day, including weekends. Basically, it was just looking beat up and the sole worn down to point where slip resistance grooves were growing thin, but functionally shoes were still together. Second pair still look great after 3 years now. Just bought a third pair for when I need them. These are the best safety shoes for people who split time between office and workshop. Super comfortable, look nice, and wear like iron. I recommend these shoes to everyone I work with. Timberland should pay me commission!Original review from 2013: "I am also an engineer (actually Safety engineer) who spends part time in office and then manufacturing. Stylish enough for office, solid enough for heavy work. Great slip on. Incredibly comfortable....in fact I think its the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, of any kind. I wear these on weekends I like them so much. Had these for a year now and they look and wear well, very tough but pliable leather. I wear them every day. Just bought a second pair as they run a bit large (about a half size) so going to try one size smaller as they have stretched just a little over time. Best overall safety shoe anywhere I have found that's just as nice in the office. I've tried many over the years..most are harder leather and have to break in. These are just right out of the box.
It's been almost a year since I purchased my Timberland Pro Titan Slip Ons - and I still love them. I wear these 4-5 days a week. They fit great, are comfortable, and they have held up to several miles. I am not particularly hard on shoes as I am not a technician or mechanic but I am in and out of factories and plants daily. They've been exposed to rough and oily conditions and I think I've got another year or so left in them. I will buy again. I've seen the reviews about how tight they are around the ankles and they may have been when I first got them but they slip on and off comfortably now. I haven't had any issues with any rips or seams. I may wear out the soles before anything else.
Likes1. Good traction2. Good looking3. Safety toe4. Fit - Be advised I bought these a 1/2 size large because I was concerned about the safety toe and me not being able to use my shoe stretcher. I also bought them wide for the same reason. I normally wear a 12.5 but they are hard to find. So I buy a 12 and use my awesome shoe stretcher to widen and lengthen them. Works great. But with a safety to I was concerned that the stretching wouldn't work so I upsized to a 13 2E and put a Dr. Scholl's Active Series Replacement Insole. Fits perfectly.Dislikes1. Bought a shoe horn to facilitate putting the shoes on. Just to clarify, once my foot is in the shoe, it fits great. But getting my foot into the tight opening at the top is tough. That said, I bought two other safety shoes from another company, same shoe just one was a 12 2E and the other a 13 2E. The 12 was too small so I returned it fearing if I tried stretching and it didn't work I'd be stuck with them. Then I got the 13 2E and tried what I did with these and they were so loose at the opening they practically fell off with each step. My point is that if these shoes had a loose top they would likely do the same thing, so though I'm not crazy about using a shoe horn, which works great, it's better than having shoes that fall off.2. They mar easy.3. They are heavy. It's a consequence of safety toes but the other safety shoes I returned had a much lighter toe.Overall, very good shoes. I work in a factory and walk all over the half million plus square feet of the place daily. They have good traction, and protect my toes from my clumsiness.
I found this shoe to be high quality. I wear 13 EE and this came in 13 w. I needed the EE, the W was as expected, a touch too tight. Putting the shoe on was really difficult for an old man. Required a long, strong, steel shoe horn and it actually hurt getting it on my foot. Once on, it was comfy other than the width. The shoe was also heavy and warm on my foot. This shouldn't be a problem for a younger guy in a work environment. The 13 length was perfect, and I have plenty of 13's that are too short so they seem to have the fit correct, at least for me. I returned the shoe because it was too hard for me to get on, and I was afraid the width would not stretch out enough with the steel toe. I would buy this shoe in a pair of seconds if it came in my size, and was easier to slip on the foot. I think with wear, it would slip on with less effort.
Great product for work. They feel very comfortable and easy to slip on. Great shoe for the price
My husband couldn't use these and we had to return them (which was easy). The wide width wasn't actually wide. The toe part is rounded and relatively narrow. The shoes do seem to be made well and they looked nice.
Love these!Been buying these for 10 years and no interest to switch. Little heavier than daily shoes, but it’s a safety shoe, so it’s expected. I buy a pair every 3-4 years, but only because the insides start to wear and foot smell (wearing 12 hrs. a day). The outside and glue has never failed or allowed water to penetrate. The composite toe doesn’t wear through like other cheap shoe brands (which really hurts your toes).200% recommend if you like a low top slip on style!
