I don't like to mow the lawn in old sneakers. I like having a sturdy pair of work shoes with a steel toe. You never know what could happen if you slip and the mower doesn't turn off for some reason. These shoes protect your feet from that and other potential landscaping accidents. The entire shoe, sole and upper, is very solid and durable. And the fit is quite comfortable considering the type of shoe you are buying. However, you will not confuse them with your weekend slippers or even Nike Airs or something along those lines. These are priced right at about $100. That might sound expensive, but I will wear these for ten years or more.
I'm a carpenter that puts my feet through all kinds of hell. I got my pair a few months ago and have definitely put them to the test, hard. Under all the dirt, there seems to be NO wear and tear. They're flawless! They are built tough as nails. A little uncomfortable at first (not much padding or sole support) but after a few days, they were broken in and ready to rumble. I suggest getting insoles for them, but other than that, they are the best "boots" for construction I've ever had! For a steel toe, they are extremely lightl. Also, it's nice to have steel toes that don't actually kill your feet. Usually steel toes are annoying, but I forget there's even a steel plate there in these. Five stars for sure
This is my very first pair of steel toe shoes though I've owned Timberland shoes year ago. The fitting is perfect for me. The shoe was well crafted, built like a tank as it should be. The traction of the soles offer a good grip on the ground and even on slippery or wet surface given its anti-slip soles. Comfort wise, I would give it an above average rating of only 7/10, as I've worn shoes that are more comfortable than this (eg. 5.11 Tactical 6" boot). Having said that, I'm sure it will be be durable and will last for quite some time. It was a good buy at a great price for a Timberland product.
Solid leather so they can be washed
Very light. Need insoles for long term comfort. Bought April 19, 2016. Now July 22, 2016 and the heels are shot and have me a blister. Most other reviews seem to be similar....
First pair was defective, but the seller replaced it immediately and the second pair fit perfectly. I love the Timberline Mudsill Steel Toe shoes. I work 9-10 hour shifts, so I am in my shoes about 12 hours a day. Very comfortable all day long!
But these shoes are incredible! I'm a mechanic and I'm on my feet in the garage all day and after I slipped in oil and ate it super hard like a week into my new job I bought these and you have to really try to slip and fall in these. They're super comfy and lightweight too, with the added strength and grip of these shoes it gives you much more confidence that you're not going to hurt yourself.
This shoe is not as heavy as the work boots I currently own, but they're just as tough and fashionable with any outfit you choose. These shows have excellent traction and they are leather, therefore you will have to break them in before you really appreciate these shoes. They're worth the money and they are in the top three work shoes to purchase per online reports. These shoes are not as expensive as I thought they would be considering they're Timberlands. Give it a try. You can always send them back within 7 days if you have the Prime Try Before You Buy.
