This is my third pair. I wear these boots every day. Yes they have a break in period and I wear a 13 wide so I do have to break them in a bit. The first pair I bought I wore for three years until I wore the soles enough to need another pair and I weigh 250 pounds. The traction on these are incredible! I walked across a frozen parking lot like a fly. These are dressy enough to wear dress casual and a great all around boot. The one thing I cannot speak to is the insoles. I have flat feet and wear orthotics. I worked corrections for 4 years and have worn 511 and Bates brands. I even had a pair of Danners at one point but nothing beats Rocky S2V.
I never imagined I could replace my late 1980s through late 1990s govt. issued jungle boots; but these boots certainly-have. This order is my second pair; I'll use this set for hunting & training, and dedicate the 1st set for summer time chores. These boots are 99% ready for duty as soon as they come out of the box; with just one (optional) modification. At the back and top of the boot upper, I sewed into the leather, a 550 cord pull-loop with some waxed polyester twine from my speedy-stitcher kit ; this helps me slip them on easier. In the words of a fellow Rakkasan platoon sergeant in the 101st Airborne Division (late 90s)"Modification is a morale booster"
As advertised. They hold up well under tough conditions. They clean easily.
These are great boots that are comfortable for extended use. The only concern is I slip on slick floors when the boots are wet. I’ve never experienced that in a tactical boot.
Did a lot of hiking through the Maine wilderness and these were awesome. There weren’t any trails, we stepped through mushy terrain, rocky crops, dense forests, gravel roads, streams, etc. They held up great and dried fast, or at least didn’t feel gross even when they were wet. Definitely buy wide, or a shoe-stretcher if you need to break them in quickly and have wide feet. Mine were good to go after 3ish days of long wear and the stretcher.
They fit my wide feet really nicely, have great ankle stability, and are a comfortable boot for pretty much anything you can throw at them. They can be pretty stiff at first but after a few days of wear it isn’t so bad. I’ve nearly walked the sole off of one pair and finally got another, definitely worth the money if you need something rugged and comfy.
These boots were a perfect fit on my husband. He always buys the same boot over and over again. These are durable and high quality tactical boots for people that have an active work life.
Love these boots , been in the military for 15 years now and have been through a bunch of the different brands. These are by far the most comfortable, they are a little stiff in the beginning so don’t break them out on a long ruck March day or hike. They are warmer and less breathable than say the Nike or reebox boot. If you are on the fence do it your feet knees and lower back will thank you later.
