Thank you, thank you Alpine Swiss! So happy to have finally found the best leather ballet flat after being disappointed by other brands - ordering then having to return. The craftsmanship is impressive, the leather liner makes wearing them w/o stockings very comfortable and finally, Alpine Swiss has captured the truly classic ballet shoe into a lovely, stylish flat, suitable for street wear - anytime, anywhere. They are wonderful and the fit is perfect for my feet. I ordered the navy and tan, both are beautiful, rich colors and exactly what I've been looking for. I will definitely place another order for 2 more colors at least. Please note: These shoes are not for wider, thicker feet - they are equal to an A width (on me) and they "hug" your feet along the sides of the shoe nicely to eliminate gaps. I am very impressed with the quality, material, fit and price. I can highly recommend this shoe. I usually wear size 7 1/2 to 8 depending on the width and cut - normally an 8 is a bit too long and a medium width can be too wide, so after reading reviews and manufacturer's suggestions, I ordered size 8 and they are just right in length, width and very comfortable from the start. The "Vera" is a totally amazing, well-fitting European ballet flat. Love! Love!
Gave it 4 stars due to fit. This runs small. Other than that. Absolutely beautiful, well made and leather. Wish my feet were smaller.
These shoes are cute and I really was looking forward to getting them! I wear a 9.5 and reviews said they ran small so I ordered a 10- the largest size offered. No WAY would they fit me- my toes were literally jammed. My Mom wears an 9 and these size 10s were even a little snug on her. However, the leather stretched enough to fit her and she loves the shoes and wears them often. After she wore them for a few weeks I tried them again and although they were a bit looser they still didn't fit me. I wish they would resize them- I would like to have them.
I purchased these as a lightning deal because they are real leather and looked like they would be comfy. At first ghry seemed comfortable, but quickly hurt in the back of my heel and the knuckle at the back of my big toe..I think it might loosen there and I could put a liner at the heel area, but don't want to do that and still end up hurting so I am returning.. Also, the stitching looks like it could come out quickly. The shoes were made in Turkey and not Europe. So that should be changed in the heading. onward for the search for a comfy, but sfill cute leather flat.
Make sure to order a size up. I wear 9 to 9.5 and ordered a ten. The ten fits me perfect. They were somewhat snug until I walked around in them and the leather got wore in a bit. These are my go-to shoes for my black leggings work outfits. They seem to be made pretty well. I couldn't afford Tieks, which are supposed to be the best ballet flats. I could buy 5 pairs of these swiss alpine brand shoes for the price of Tieks though. I have had them for a month and wore them probably 15-20 times already and there is no noticeable wear. The quality looks good, not like some of the cheapy looking ballet flats out there for the same price. I would buy another pair. This pair is black. I tried the tan and was not happy with the color, but returned them for free with no questions asked.
Way too small overall. Too narrow in width, and toe box too small and tight. Leather was a joke-looked like thick plastic! Returned.
I love these! Soft leather and a good fit. I bought a 6 for my 5.5 foot and have a bit of room, but they are comfortable with thin liner socks and without. I’ve worn them in 90 degree heat and they stay on nicely, so they’re definitely not too large. The tan color is closer to the color of classic stitching on blue jeans, not a light brown as I had hoped, but I will definitely still use these as a neutral flat with skinny jeans and skirts. I bought a second pair in cream and am pleased. The only trouble I’ve had is with a bit of stitching on the inside of the heel that irritates my foot without a liner sock. I’m pleased with the all-leather shoe at this accessible price point.Update 10/19/21 The color has worn off at the toes of these shoes. They remain comfortable and a good value, but it’s impossible to find a matching shoe polish for this color.
I read the reviews stating that there would be a need to size up. I am usually a 7.5 in flats so I went up to an 8. My toes were at the very tops of these shoes, making it uncomfortable. Other than that, no heel rubbing or blisters. The footbed padding is minimal so be prepared to put in arch support if needed. I was a little concerned because the flats that I have had in the past are usually softer leather, showing the indents of my toes. The leather is reinforced at the toes, it may take some getting used to as it looks a bit clownish. I wish there were half sizes for these - going to order a 9 and see if that is better for me in the toe area.
