ECCO, a Danish footwear brand founded in 1963 by Karl Toosbuy, began with a simple yet revolutionary idea: creating comfortable shoes that mimicked the barefoot walking experience. Toosbuy believed that shoes shouldn't restrict the natural movement of the foot, and ECCO's commitment to ergonomic design has been at the heart of the brand ever since.
ECCO prioritizes both comfort and style. They utilize innovative technologies and premium materials to create shoes that are anatomically shaped, lightweight, and flexible. ECCO also boasts a keen eye for design, offering a range of styles that are both functional and fashion-forward.
I feel like my posture instantly improves with these sandals. Others have complained the sole is hard. This is true. They dry quicker than some softer-soled water shoes.
OK, so yeah, despite other reviews, knowing Ecco I wasn't expecting the inner sole to be as hard a plastic as it is. With the upturn at the toe tip, this worries me for potential rubbing that could cause blister or callus. Especially as the fit is a little wider and longer than expected from the size and from my experience with other Ecco models. That said, the outer sole makes it clear this sandal is not made for real walking like many of their other models, and it IS a water shoe, so a harder plastic that is water resistant or proof should be expected. They're not uncomfortable, they're just... perhaps more like crocs material than what I'm used to from Ecco. Also, the padding on the straps is not as soft and cushy... Again, this worries me for rub, especially in a water shoe. Wet, this could be a real problem. I'll update this review when I have more experience with this.I DO love the awesome arch support from the sole. Wow, that feel great! Wet, this again could be a rub issue with the harder material, but if they dry as fast as stated them probably not.I had bought these for use at Disney this April, since shoes made for water are better at parks with water rides. But now I'm glad I pulled the trigger early on a pair of Yucatans too, because I don't think these are going to be good for long distance walking and Yucatans may not dry as fast but they do dry quick, are soft on the feet when wet, and are great for long walks in all conditions. If nothing else I'll use these water sandals for summer Kayaking. =)
I bought 2 pairs of ecco recently. I love them, but this model has very rough soles, and its uncomfortable after less than an hour. have tried with socks, it doesnt help much. My other pair , similar model, are brilliant. dont know why these are so rough on my feet.
