Evans (Thomas and Amos) were running a small shoe business connected with a general store in the town of South Reading. There was no shoe factory as we know it today, just a small shop where Thomas and Amos cut the leather for their shoes. The actual shoe making was farmed out among the people of the town, while Thomas and Amos supplied them with uppers, soles, counters and heels to be assembled into shoes. All shoes were sewed by hand whenever the shoemaker-farmers could spare the time. Today L.B. Evans is owned and operated as a division of Daniel Green Enterprises. Many of the traditional gentleman's slipper styles are still part of the line, but the business has grown to include new updated classics, premium products including elk and deer, and an array or rugged, warm outdoor styles. My husband loves these slippers. Good quality leather. Two years later, I brought him another pair for his birthday. He was so happy.
This is 3rd pair ordered as I ordered my correct size which is 101/2 med. came too tight and too short. Ordered 11 1/2 wide,,came too loose and flopped on foot,,, next ordered 3 rd pair at111/2 medium,,, PERFECT,,, thank you AMAZON,,,for taking returns.
I have been buying this specific slipper for quite a few years. In fact, I have purchased over 10 pair. That said, I wish they would last longer than 3 months per pair. Please note that I use these slippers both indoors and outdoors and there lies my issue. If I switched to a pair of out door shoes when doing chores outside, I'm sure these slippers would last a lot longer. It's a great slipper as I have wide feet and few slippers offer this width.
Slippers came up small, no comfort in them at all, only worn them indoors and the heels are already scuffed. Expensive mistake buying them.

You should be. Some are saying the sizes runs small while others say they are true to size and some even say too large. How can you draw a conclusion based on such differing opinions? I wear an 11 1/2, but hedged on the side of them running small and ordered a 12M. Guess what? They are a half size too big. I should have ordered my true size or even an 11M. Some people have swollen feet and ankles due to health reasons and they should not be reviewing shoes because any shoe will seem too tight or small to their feet. I would say these run pretty true to size. I gave these a 3 star rating but not because they are a little large. That's my fault that I didn't order true to size. But the inner soles do not have the smooth leather finish that the heels and outer shoe does. I guess it's leather, but more of a grain leather that doesn't feel as good as leather slippers I have owned in the past.
