Timberland like any like any other brand has become more fashion than function thanks to celebs making the boots popular. Thankfully, Timberland still makes something that is functional in the real world!! Staying true to their roots. The Timberland Pro Boondock 6" boot are amazing! The boots feature a composite safety toe, electrical hazard protection, completely waterproof, and 400 grams of insulation. I purchased the boots during the long cold harsh winter. The boots feel hefty but very solid! Upon wearing them, you can sense the anti-fatigue cushioning and the boots don't feel as heavy. From other reviews, there is a break in period (at least I hope so) because there is a slight discomfort/rubbing on the left side around rear of the ankle. I think over time the boots will feel better.I originally purchased the Timberland Pro Boondock 6" Non-insulated in a size 7.5 because a local department store was closing the priced seemed right. 7.5 was not bad, however I felt that my toes would curl or push too much against the toe cap when walking. i decided to purchase the insulated version in my normal size 8. Feels slightly larger but plenty of space now!! More room for boot socks!I have tried boots made by Wolverine, Skechers, Carharrt, etc. Some of the boots did not last long at all! While others became useless after the outsole started deteriorating. Timberland was never my first choice, because I felt they were overpriced. In hind sight, I hope the Boondock prove me wrong! The boots look great with the pebbled leather and protective toe cap and plastic lining around the ankle. I did apply SNO-SEAL to the boots to protect the leather. That is something I have been using for years.Edit:Its been a couple of weeks, winter has started! The tread on the boots is great in snowy conditions, wore the boots while snow blowing the drive way. The insulation keeps your feet cozy, even with thinner socks. The rubbing went away and the boots are comfortable.I went for a winter hike on a sunny but very cold day. The boots kept my feet warm! However, i ended up slipping in a creek and the boots got soaked! I had two pairs of socks on, while I could feel water sloshing around, my feet did not freeze and stayed comfortable. The hike was only a mile but I have to believe that the insulation really helped.
Bought these to replace some older Timblerlands and had never tried this model. I’m glad I did as these are great boots. Super comfortable and very durable. They feel like they’ll withstand a beating.
I've waited over a month before writing this review for Any boots I've purchased in the past took at least this long to show their true colors. These are my first Timberlands and I had high expectations considering their popularity. Upon arrival they were packaged in a well made box with tags, prints and photos about everything these bad boys have and can do. They were individually wrapped in paper and that paper was also wrapped. *Starting off good). I slipped them on and trotted around a little bit showing them off to the Mrs, who agreed they looked very nice compared to my past purchases. They looked the part and the packaging alone gave me the feeling these were the real deal. I took them to work where the true test would be conducted. I'm a railroader, so these boots were in for a fun 1st day with nearly all conditions applicable, I also typically work 16hr shifts so the Anti-Fatigue had better show up strong. Fast Forward! At no point during "the break in" did these boots hurt or feel uncomfortable. NOT ONE BLISTER! ! They bended nice when crouching, they gripped great to ladders and greasy walkboards and didn't let any water in during the nastiest storms. It's only been 6 weeks or so but these bad boys have already seen over 500 hours of the worst I can throw at them, and they have held their ground beautifully. No stitches have come undone, no leather is cracking, the soles are still as good as day one. . I have purchased many boots in the past. I've tried everything from Walmarts best to fancy Redwing boots and nothing has compared to these bad boys. These are the real deal 100%. I seen mentioned that these are "Clown boots" with their big steel toe? The answer is No.. they are not. The toe is maybe slightly bigger than other boots I've owned, which I like, those folks don't wear alot of boots I guess. My boots are currently are on my feet and nearly black with grease and grime, but I know that under those layers of hard work is a boot thats making it all easy for me. I would absolutely recommend these to any person who's job takes them "off-road" to say. By far the best boots I've ever purchased and the last one's I'll ever buy.
Did I mention how comfortable this puppies are? Great work boot.
I used to be strictly Red Wing when it came to work boots, nothing else would do.Then I decided to try a pair of Timberland Pro Endurance boots, hated them at first. But after wearing them consistently for a month or two, I found them to be way more comfortable than the Red Wings.I still have that pair of Timberlands (little over a year old now), but work gave us a use it or lose it boot allowance.I wanted a pair of insulated boots this time so I bought the Timberland Boonedocks. They are extremely comfortable to say the least. Yes, they are "bulkier" looking than most other boots, but I want comfort and warmth over fashion when it comes to work boots. These are definitely warm, I probably wont need my wool blend socks except on the coldest days. Winter is almost over, so these will go in the locker until next winter soon.As far as fit, alot of people say they run big. I found them to be true to size. I bought the same size I wear in every other boot and they fit perfectly. As far as durability, won't know until sometime next year, but the Endurances have held up great for daily wear for over a year. I expect no less from these.
Great durable and very comfortable shoe
Been wearing this style boot for about 7 years. This is my 4th pair, lasting about 2 years each pair as a truck driver. There are 2 versions, these are the 400g; heavier duty.Always fit perfect from day one, keep feet warm in winter and cool in summer. Being in wet conditions occasionally, these boots keep my feet dry. I maintain them with a silicone spray. This pair was priced just right vs boot stores.
