Good selection
I bought these shoes with the idea that they would be good for walking around Paris in the daytime, and would also be somewhat dressier than my running shoes for the evening. They look pretty nice, and they fit my extra wide feet fairly well. The problems are two-fold. First the shoes are probably the heaviest shoes I've ever owned. They are at least twice as heavy as my Brooks Ghost 14s. The weight would not be an issue perhaps if I was training for a marathon, but I am not. It actually reminds me of how it feels to wear ankle weights. Second, the leather is very stiff and it has no give. It seems like very cheap leather, cardboard like in that it bends in a sharp crease but doesn't conform to the foot at all. I tried many different methods of trying to soften it up, but so far it's no better. The shoes are put away in a drawer now and I bought a pair of Brooks walking shoes which are not as nice looking, but at least I can wear them while touring Paris.
First off, these shoes run a full size too big. That prompted my first return ( a process that was a saga in it's own). I reordered a size smaller and they fit, but they have been WORN and returned. They have heavy scuffs on them, including green color from the inside of the box since they weren't even repackaged properly. The photos show exactly how I found them when I opened the box.The mfr tells me that they have supply issues and they won't be getting any more of these in the foreseeable future, so if you do order you'll likely be getting old stock or returns they're trying to get rid of. Save yourself the ag and look elsewhere.
This is a well made attractive shoe as expected from Dunham. The fit is looser, than other Dunham oxford’s I've owned in size 12 4E. I probably should have sized down a half size. I've had the shoe for a few months. It's not my favorite Dunham shoe. It seems the shoe was designed as a combinaiton of a boat shoe upper with three lace eyelets along with a very heavy work boot sole. It doesn't work well in my opinion. The shoe tends to clap a bit when walking. Dunham swung and missed on this model.
