I typically wear a Women's 11 Wide in trail runners. I've tried Asics and New Balance and these Altra are by far the best-fitting and most comfortable. The main problem i seem to have with most shoes is that the toe box, even in wide width shoes, can be quite narrow not only across (usually some sort of tapered toe) but vertically! I seem to have thicker, taller toes than what some shoes can accommodate. These shoes fit great- so much room in the toe that I can easily wiggle them, yet secure on my instep and heel. Combined with thicker hiking socks, they are perfect for cruising around all day with no pain. My one complaint, and it's a minor one, is that the gorgeous cream color in the wide width is pretty impractical for hiking as it shows dirt super easily. I may actually get a pair of "normal" width size 11 for a different color to wear with thinner cotton crew socks. I think even the regular 11 will provide adequate room- if I do that, I will update this review on the fit of those. UPDATE: I ordered the 11m in a gorgeous fuschia color and they fit perfectly, even with thicker hiking socks. The wider-instead-of-tapered toe box is clearly what I need for my feet. These shoes not only look cute but are super comfy and fit SO great- my new favorite brand. They have earned a very loyal customer.

This is my favorite style in the this brand. The color is great and they fit perfectly. I have wide feet and these shoes feel like they are made for my feet. They are incredibly comfortable, wide toe base, and are durable.

These shoes are SO comfortable! They have a nice, roomy toe box, so there is no need to size up to keep your toes from dying. The heel is nice a snug. They are super grippy on the bottom. They don’t have a lot of pads or cushions— but that is what I was looking for. They do have a weird Velcro tab on the back for gators or something to keep mud out of your shoes. I’m not a big fan of that since I don’t go out in mud. They also have a little edge on the back so you can take them off hands free if they’re dirty.

I have had these for a couple of weeks and like them quite a lot. They have just enough cushion that I have good sensation and control. My former trail shoes were too mushy. My only complaint is the shoe laces - way too short. I had to order some new ones that are significantly longer.

I switched to Altra over a year ago and this is my 3rd pair of Lone Peaks, perfect for my commute or taking to the trail. The zero drop has resolved my plantar fasciitis. The wide toe box means my toes don't rub and they have room to wiggle. I felt confident buying these online and the fit is perfect. Altra does have different foot shapes, however, so don't assume that all will fit the same.Soles are a nice gray, rather than the blazing white on so many shoes. Color options vary, buti like the dark purple/indigo and the pink accent isn't overbearing. I often get inquiries about my Altras from friends and strangers who are curious about the shape.

I love almost all of my ALTRA shoes, the fit is consistent and I love the wide toe box. These are so comfortable, I appreciate the grippy sole and the color is fun! I rotate thru them, when they're new and clean I wear them to work (Physical Therapy Clinic) and then after awhile I wear them on walks/hikes and since I've found ALTRA, I don't wear any other brand.

I bought these shoes for my plantar fasciitis wide-toe box of this works well for me. The first one I ordered was size 8 wide because I have a custom insert due to the leg discrepancy. It was too wide I returned it and ordered a size 8 regular. The sizing chart doesn’t have 9.5 inches so I ended up ordering 9.6 inches which is size 8 in their online chart it’s a little bit long maybe the 7.5 might fit for me but I am afraid my toes might hit the toe box so I decided to keep it. My custom insole accommodate it comfortably. The only downside of these shoes is the tongue is uncomfortable and needs more cushioning, and the shoelaces are short. The last hole is not punched I don’t know if they forgot to put a hole or what? The quality seems it’s not durable for the price I paid. I have been wearing these shoes inside the house for almost two weeks I already noticed there are scratches on the front of the sticker on the toe box. The manufacturer can do better for the quality of the materials they use for these shoes.
