I have wide painful feet - like torturous slabs of meat attached to my ankles. I suffer from plantar fasciitis and bunions. These look nice - granted my feet are hideous so anything covering them is an improvement - but they also fit well with a wide toe box and narrower ankle. Most importantly they do not make might feet hurt - and most everything makes my feet hurt. I recommend. I rotate with other shoes so they don’t break down. The price on here was better than I found elsewhere.
I have been running in TOPO's for the past several years when I transitioned to zero drop running shoes. I alternate between these and the Altra zero drop 16mm running shoes. Pros- The TOPOs are a great fit with a nice toe box to preserve toenails on long runs (I run 9 miles per run 3 times a week and cross train and do HIIT with these shoes). The lacing is improved with better length and great eyelets. The tongue holds its place well. The cushioning is I believe 26mm- this is the con- I expected these to feel more cushioned than they do. It compacts quickly so I feel the need to replace these sooner than shoes with a softer footbed. However I love how lightweight they feel and how well they fit my foot. I do recommend these shoes as they are my first go to in my running shoes rotation. I am a female runner, 5'6 tall and 122lbs weight with a neutral gait. I love my TOPOs and recommend them to runners looking for a good zero drop running shoe that offers a little more substance than a minimalist shoe does.
I chose the shoes for the green color but also the good reviews! I loved them- so very comfortable- I almost hate to take them off! Toe box is roomy - I ordered my regular size 7 and they were just right. So cute too!
Very comfortable shoes. I have had surgery for tarsal tunnels yndrome and plantar fasciitis, and my feet are very picky. I can wear these very comfortably for long periods of time. I'd say second only to Hoka for comfortablity.
This is my 2nd pair of Topos, but the 1st pair of Magniflys. They are perfect for my feet, which are average width everywhere except the toe box, where Morton’s neuromas require a little more space. They are secure across the arch and are spacious in the rose box without being loose. The Magniflys are also zero drop, which puts a little more weight on the heel and takes it off of the balls of your feet, making them even more comfortable for someone with neuromas or metatarsalgia. Love the dark teal color, too!
I wanted to love these but the heel cup is too low and wide so my heels felt like they were coming out of the shoes when I walked in them. Loved the wide toe box , zero drop and how comfortable they are but can’t wear them because my heels keep rising up. I tried several different lacing methods but didn’t notice a difference. I would definitely try these again if the heel cups were adjusted!
The tongue is the same style on the 5s but they did change the fabric. I returned them without running in them because when I tried them on they rubbed on the scar that the 5s left on the front of my ankle. The shoe itself felt nice. Altra is limiting ankle dorsiflexion and pronation with this shoe and we need these movements. I’ve been a longtime Altra girl but it appears I’m becoming a Topo one.
If you gave up hope that the Altra Torin would ever be comfortable again, come to Topo. These Magniflys are perfect. Roomy toe box, so no blisters here. I wear very thin socks, and haven't had any rub or chafe. Trained for and finished a 50mi in the 3s. The 4s are just as nice, with more secure tongue straps for the laces. Durable through mud and water, they drain very well. I've just ordered my 4th pair of 4s, getting 400ish miles on my last ones, midfoot strike. Shins let me know when I need a new pair. Only critique is fresh soles can feel slippery on wet roads until 10-15mile break-in.
