I was hesitant to buy these "sandals" due to the price, but am glad that I did. They are very comfortable, have great breathability, and are stylish enough to be worn almost anywhere. They are more like a shoe than a sandal in that they have a closed heel, which makes walking much much easier than if they had an open heel like a traditional sandal. The top strap is adjustable so you can make the fit as snug or as loose as you please. I have extremely wide feet and the 4E width I ordered fits perfectly. I wore them the other day on a 3-mile walk on mostly gravel roads and my feet felt great when I got home. These sandals seem to be very well made, despite being made in China (which came as a surprise to me). I can't rate their durability/longevity since I've only owned them a short while, but for now I give these sandals a solid 5-star rating.
I picked these out for my husband who considered his Keen sandals to be stylish. Hello? He wanted something with a toe and a back but it be a sandal. Not easy to accomplish. After lots of searches, I found these. He purchased them and says they are super comfortable. He has worn them with socks and it looks ok (not white socks, haha) and it will be a great looking sandal with no socks when summer actually rolls around. He bought a 10.5 and usually wears a 10 (go figure). He says they are not too big but rather roomy and he is really happy.
I just received these Dunham sandals today and I my initial impression of them is extremely positive! I ordered size 13 4E and have feet that are so big and wide that I have had trouble for my entire life finding shoes of any style that will fit me. My actual shoe size is 13 2E, but as I have gotten older, I have had fluid retention problems that cause my feet to swell - and these issues are mostly in the warmer and more humid months of the year, There have been times where I have had trouble fitting my feet into any pair of shoes that I own, so a few years ago - I wised up and started to order shoes that were at least 1 or 2 sizes wider than my regular foot size. These 13 4E sandals are a great fit, and even so today, when my feet are a little swollen due to fluid retention problems.I was so relieved and pleased to finally find a shoe/sandal that was both very comfortable and which was wide enough to fit my feet. I gave this sandal 4 stars only, because I still do not know how well they might hold up over time.I would like to thank Dunham for being considerate enough to offer such a high quality sandal for guys who are cursed with Big Feet.
I have different sized feet so I generally have to order separate sizes for my left and right foot. I usually order a men's size 9 4-E for my left foot. In this sandal I found that the 9 4-E was too long and exchanged them for an 8.5 4-E, a half size down. My left foot measures as a 8.5 3-E so overall I think these sandals run true to size, but might run long for some people. My right foot measures as a size 10-D and the size 10 2-E I ordered for my right foot fit well in both width and length. Arch support seems good, but I would not say the arch support is high
They fit true to size. I'm going to buy a second pair. I've been really hard on these shoes. I wear them in wet grass, I work in them, they have paint splatters on them. They are still in good shape. The leather strip by the pinky toe on both shoes is starting to get small cracks. The mesh by one pinky toe has worn through. The insoles have come loose. (Where they ever attached? Don't remember.) The velcro still works good. They soles are starting to get worn slick. Leather is the way to go. Leather doesn't hold odor causing bacteria like synthetic materials do. Leather lasts longer than synthetics, usually. Leather is usually more expensive but worth it.
Very cheap for the price.
My husband has LB Dementia and has Edema so we tried 11 pairs of different shoes (all purchased online because he can't leave his facility)and this one turned out to be the one he loved the most. I wish it came in black but it is built just wonderfully with such soft leather and it is onethat he can easily put on himself so he enjoys that little bit of pride. I ordered it 1/2 size larger than usual and XX wide to fit when his feet are soswollen. It's nicely stable for his good balance and padded on the inside for comfort and foot health. I'm so grateful for this wonderful shoe!!!
Maybe my expectations was too high. Almost no arch support whatsoever. It looks kind of awkward, different than photo. Narrow and long toe part. Maybe top part outer sole is leather, doesn't smell like leather.
