Love the roomy toe box area. My feet aren’t wide but I hate the feeling of my toes being squished in sneakers. I’ve used for jogging in sidewalks and pavement and on outdoor courts for pickleball. Lightweight and sturdy.
I have bunions and these are so comfy. I wear them all day at work.
As others have said, the fit on the 3 is a lot different. There is some kind of built in squeeze on the forefoot. As someone with wide feet, this isn’t very comfortable. I am currently wearing the black pair, and it’s doable, but I miss the ultimate comfort of the previous versions.
I've loved the Escalantes for years, partly because they work with my wide feet. This is my fourth pair, and it's true that the laces are far shorter than previous ones. I had to re-lace them and skip a couple holes, but now they're fine.
I love the decreased drop in these shoes. I have a different pair for day hikes that I love so decided to try these for running and walking. They’re great! Plenty of toe room and just the right amount of cushion.

I’ve worn down both my pairs of Escalante 2 and decided it was time for a new pair. I saw this and thought I’d give it a shot but it’s just not as comfortable as the 2.
I really enjoy wearing these shoes. A nice break from my running shoes.
